Himachal Pradesh National Law University (HPNLU), Shimla is one of India’s premier institutions for legal education, with an emphasis on academic excellence, interdisciplinary learning, research, innovation, and engagement with contemporary legal and policy challenges.
The Legal Innovation & Incubation Cell (LIIC) is a student-driven initiative of HPNLU established to promote innovation, interdisciplinary exploration, and problem-oriented thinking within the legal ecosystem. The Cell works at the intersection of law, technology, entrepreneurship, policy, and allied disciplines, encouraging students to develop practical solutions to real-world legal challenges.

Details About the Event
Lexcelerate’26 is a Shark Tank-style legal startup idea pitching competition that provides a platform for students and innovators to transform real-world problems in the legal ecosystem into innovative, technology-driven ventures. The central theme of the competition is “Access to Justice”, encouraging participants to develop solutions that make justice more accessible, affordable, understandable, and inclusive.
Participants will pitch their ideas before a panel comprising legal professionals, entrepreneurs, investors, and industry experts. The proposed idea may be at the conceptual, prototype, or operational stage.

Eligibility
The competition is open to everyone. Participants may participate individually or in teams of up to three members. Each participant/team may submit only one startup idea.
The idea should address an existing challenge relating to law, justice delivery, legal education, compliance, policy, or allied sectors.

Fee Details
- ₹500/- per head – General participants
- ₹350/- per head – HPNLU students
Prizes
- Winner: ₹12,000 Cash Prize + Free Course on LawMento + Certificate of Merit
- Runner-up: ₹8,000 Cash Prize + 50% off on any LawMento course + Certificate of Merit
- Third Position: Certificate of Merit
- All Participants: 30% off on any LawMento course + Certificate of Participation
- Opportunity to incubate the idea
