About the Job
Ernst & Young (EY) is hiring a Senior Associate to support matters relating to open-source software (OSS) licensing, legal risk assessment, and technology-driven projects. The role involves reviewing OSS requests, advising on licensing issues, supporting due diligence exercises, and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
Eligibility
Candidates must possess:
- An LL.B. degree.
- 2–3 years of relevant post-qualification experience in OSS review and software licensing.
- Working knowledge of open-source software (OSS) licences and a strong understanding of licensing concepts, including rights, restrictions, and usage obligations.
- Experience working on technology-driven and software development projects.
- Ability and confidence to deliver subject matter training to peers and senior stakeholders in both in-person and virtual settings.
Responsibilities
The selected candidate will be responsible for:
- Reviewing OSS intake forms to ensure the completeness and accuracy of information provided.
- Liaising with requestors to rectify incomplete or incorrect OSS requests and supporting documentation.
- Reviewing and analysing OSS licences in accordance with EY policies and specific business use cases to mitigate legal and commercial risks.
- Supporting OSS-related due diligence in mergers and acquisitions (M&A) transactions.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including Information Security, Global GCO, and local GCO.
- Developing and maintaining an understanding of key business and legal risks, including EY’s internal risk management framework.
- Monitoring changes to EY policies, organisational structure, and procedures, and assessing their impact on ongoing work.
