About Project 39A

Project 39A, National Law University Delhi, is a criminal justice program inspired by Article 39A of the Indian Constitution. It aims to bring reforms to India’s criminal justice system, ensuring equal access to justice for all. Project 39A’s work focuses on five themes within the Indian criminal justice system: death penalty, forensics, mental health & criminal justice, prevention of torture, and legal aid. Through pro bono legal representation of death row prisoners, interdisciplinary research, capacity building, and advocacy, Project 39A seeks to inform stakeholders and the public about the realities of and interventions necessary in the justice system.

About the Job

This is a full-time on-site role for a Consultant (Communications) at Project 39A in New Delhi. The Consultant will lead communications strategy and be responsible for ideating and managing creative projects, executing multimedia production, social media and website management, and implementing strategic communications initiatives to highlight developments in key areas of our work.

Eligibility

• Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, marketing, law, or other allied field. Candidates from diverse professional backgrounds are encouraged to apply.
• Two years of work experience will be preferred
• Excellent communication and writing skills
• Proficiency in strategic communications
• Project management, coordination, multitasking, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team
• Knowledge of the criminal justice system is a plus.
