About Symbiosis Law School, Pune

Symbiosis International (Deemed University) (SIU) was established in the year 1971. Symbiosis Law School, Pune (SLS Pune) has been a constituent of SIU since 2002. The India Today-Nielsen study has placed SLS-P among the top 10 law schools in India every year since 2007. It is listed as one of the top three law schools in the Super Excellence Survey 2019 by GHRDC, and it is ranked number six by the National Institution Ranking Framework (NIRF) of the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India.

Symbiosis Law School, Pune is gearing up to host its annual extravaganza, Symbhav 2024. This event serves as a convergence point for colleges nationwide, coming together to celebrate cultural, sports, and legal endeavors. With its diverse array of activities, the festival aims to create a vibrant atmosphere, fostering connections among students from various fields of study.

About the Events

There will be five competitions as part of our cultural and legal fest this year:

• 5th Nithin Patil Memorial Mono Advocacy Competition, 2024 [April 5 & 6, 2024]
• 1st Nithin Patil Memorial Negotiation Competition, 2024 [April 5 & 6, 2024]
• Client Counselling Competition, 2024 [April 5 & 6, 2024]
• Settlement Agreement Drafting Competition, 2024 [March 25, 2024: Submission]
• 2nd Deal Mediation Competition, 2024 [April 5 & 6, 2024]

Team Composition and Registration Procedure

• 5th Nithin Patil Memorial Mono Advocacy Competition, 2024.
  • The competition is open for students who are currently pursuing LLB via a three-year / five-year course. Each participant must contest individually.
  • All the participating institutions/individuals have to register by filling out the Registration Form- https://forms.gle/dyg6hUiwmuurgz6WA on or before March 20, 2024.
  • The registrations will be accepted on a first-come-first-serve basis and any change in the registration must be informed to the organizers at the earliest.
  • The participants will be required to submit 2 (two) skeleton briefs, one from each side being represented before March 20, 2024.
  • The participants will be required to pay Rs.1500/- as registration fees.
  • The proposition will be released on February 22, 2024 (subject to change).
• 1st Nithin Patil Memorial Negotiation Competition, 2024.
  • The competition is open for students who are currently pursuing LLB via a three-year / five-year course. Each participant must contest individually.
  • All the participating institutions/individuals have to register by filling out the Registration Form- https://forms.gle/dyg6hUiwmuurgz6WA on or before March 20, 2024.
  • The registrations will be accepted on a first-come-first-serve basis and any change in the registration must be informed to the organizers at the earliest.
  • The participants will be required to pay Rs.1200/- as registration fees.
  • The proposition will be released on February 22, 2024 (subject to change).
• Client Counselling Competition, 2024.
  • The participants shall be from any of the 3-year LLB or 5-year Integrated LLB Courses. Each team will consist of two participants, and they shall be from the same institution, with each team comprising of 1 Client & 1 Counsel.
  • Team(s) may not be altered after registration.
  • Registration fees for the Client Counselling event is Rs.2500/- per team. All the participating institutions/teams have to register by filling out the Registration Form- https://forms.gle/dyg6hUiwmuurgz6WA on or before March 20, 2024.
  • The registrations will be accepted on a first-come-first-serve basis and any change in the registration must be informed to the organizers at the earliest.
  • The propositions will be released on February 22, 2024 (subject to change).
• Settlement Agreement Drafting Competition, 2024.
  • Each team shall consist of a minimum of (01) one participant and a maximum of two (02) participants belonging to the same college. The participants shall be pursuing a 3-year LLB or 5-year integrated LLB program from any college within India. The team composition may not be altered after registration.
  • The last date of Registration is March 20, 2024, and the same must be completed on this Registration Form- https://forms.gle/dyg6hUiwmuurgz6WA. The Registration fee for the competition is Rs. 500/- per team, for which the payment details share be shared with the registered participants on their Email IDs.
  • The Settlement Agreement is to be submitted via the Google form both .docx and pdf latest by 17:00 HRS. IST, March 25, 2024, on the following google form: https://forms.gle/avoAzVDM4QvyKWAK9. In case of multiple submissions, the last submission by the participant before the deadline will be considered for evaluation and any submission received after the deadline shall not be considered for evaluation, and the team shall be disqualified.
• 2nd Deal Mediation Competition, 2024.
  • The participants shall be from any of the 3-year LLB or 5-year Integrated LLB Courses. Each team will consist of Three Participants (Client, Counsel & Mediator) and they shall be from the same institution.
  • Team(s) may not be altered after registration.
  • The registration fee for the event is Rs. 3000/- and all the participating institutions/teams must register by filling out the Registration Form on or before March 26, 2024, on this link- https://forms.gle/dyg6hUiwmuurgz6WA
  • The registrations will be accepted on a first-come-first-serve basis and any change in the registration must be informed to the organizers at the earliest, there will be a maximum cap of 2 teams per institution.
  • Each team must register for their roles in the competition. After registration, these roles cannot be changed.

Prizes

Participation certificates will be awarded to all participants, in all of the above competitions. The awards ‘Winner’ and ‘Runner Up’ will be awarded in the 5th Nithin Patil Memorial Mono Advocacy Competition, 2024, the Settlement Agreement Drafting Competition, 2024, and the 2nd Deal Mediation Competition, 2024. The awards of ‘Best Client’ & ‘Best Counsel’ will be awarded in the Client Counselling Competition, 2024. All the competitions carry attractive cash prizes.
