About the Opportunity

To honour and celebrate it’s legal legacy, School of Law, UPES proudly presents VidhiUtsav II Edition. VidhiUtsav is India’s largest Academic Law Fest that brings together budding legal minds from across the country. This extravaganza provides a platform for students to showcase their intellectual prowess, argumentation skills, and knowledge of law. With its rigorous competitions, engaging workshops, and enlightening guest lectures, VidhiUtsav’s second edition promises to provide very participant with a platform to exchange ideas, sharpen your skills, and create connections that will last a lifetime.

To promote excellence in legal aid and encourage knowledge sharing among law students, The Legal Aid Clinic at UPES pridefully presents National Legal Aid Excellence Award as part of VidhiUtsav II Editon.

The National Legal Aid Clinic Excellence Award aims to honour law students and institutions who have made significant contributions on promoting legal aid, access to justice, and empowerment of marginalised communities. It also provides a platform to discuss the challenges and opportunities in the realm of legal aid and encourages innovative approaches to delivering justice. We enthusiastically invite you to participate in this thrilling and intriguing competition, scheduled for the 12th of April,2025. The Competition is divided into two components:

• Submission of the report (Annual Report + Policy Proposal)
• Presentation

The fundamental goal of this competition is to highlight the importance of legal aid in securing justice for all, in particular, for the economically disadvantaged groups.

Eligibility

• This competition is open to legal aid clinics affiliated with universities or educational institutions across India.
• A team must consist of up to two participants who are law students enrolled in undergraduate or postgraduate programs.

Mode

Hybrid

• The first round of this competition is for the report submissions.
• The advanced offline round for the top 06 selected teams, will be held at the UPES Dehradun campus itself.

Registration

• Interested teams would be required to register for the competition by filling the Google form available on the official competition website and upon successful registration, teams will receive a Unique Identification Code (UIC) for use throughout the competition.
•  Participants are required to complete all sections of the form, providing accurate and up-to-date information.

Fee Details

• There’s a registration fee of INR 1500 per team.
•  Participants requiring accommodation during the offline phase are required to pay an additional INR 800 per person per night.

Prizes

• With such exciting competitions, come even more exciting prizes. All participants, whether they are part of the online report submissions or the offline presentation, will receive certificates acknowledging their contribution to the competition.
• The top 3 participants will get prize money with a merit certificate.
