About the Law College Dehradun

Law College Dehradun has splendidly contributed to legal education in the country since its inception and inauguration by His Excellency Shri Surjeet Singh Barnala, the then Governor of Uttarakhand in 2002. It has set a paradigm for legal education in the nation by offering innovative, research-driven discourses that are aimed at striking a balance between legal theory and practice.

Vasundhara- the Green Society intends to create awareness and increase the consciousness & knowledge about the environmental issues. It aims at the creation of a Green Campus with phased initiatives involving the student community and all the stake holders making the University the first of its kind in the region to achieve environmental social responsibility. The society has a global vision with a local focus and collaborates with similar institutions to enhance efficient use of resources & sustainable development. The society aims to provide training, promote research development and create awareness on environment & the need for its protection & conservation through various environmental education programs.

About the Youth Parliament Society

Transcendence and continuity, hierarchy and collectivism, the characteristic elements of our
thousand year old tradition are the fundamentals of our socio-political psyche. Youth Parliament
Society of the college is an innovative platform to hone the public speaking and argumentative
skills of the students by discussing matters that concern the youth of our nation. We, the future
custodians of this rich heritage, living in this modern age realize to the fullest extent the need for
imbibing the modern values both political as well as social. The formation of Youth Parliament is
an earnest endeavour to inculcate the essentials of liberty, equality and fraternity in ourselves and
the youth in general. To fulfil such objectives, Youth Parliament Society of Law College
Dehradun initiated a platform to discuss forums that simulate real Indian Governmental Bodies
and discuss relevant issues within their ambit. Consequently, they provide students with the skills
for driving home their creative ideas and for finding solutions to the problems that plague the
nation.

Workshop. The Workshop will help the youngsters to seek new opportunities and positivity in their life.
The Workshop includes well known and eminent speaker Mr. Sonal Verma, Partner- ESG & Global
Leader (Markets & Strategy). It endeavour to bring youngsters to interact with the mentor who inspired
and changed the life of many students. It will help the youngsters to adopt a cheerful, positive and multidimensional approach in their lives.

About the speaker

Mr. SONAL VERMAis well acclaimed for his work in regulatory & compliance programs over the last decade. He had in the past worked with 1800 plus clients in India and 61 other countries globally. He has worked with the top 3 unicorns and many Fortune 500 companies. His clients have been across different industries, viz. Automotive and OEMs, Pharma and Life Sciences, Manufacturing, Chemical Industry, BFSI, Infrastructure and Utilities (including state-owned PSUs), e-Commerce and Fintech Companies, Diversified Conglomerates etc. Sonal has worked on multi-million-dollar mandates for pan-global accounts. He brings insights to clients on the intricate detailing of different laws, their impact, pre-emptive measures, and ways to de-risk the organization. He spent his starting years in-house at Barclaycard HQ in Northampton, UK. He has also worked in a senior position with a leading big 4 in legal risk transformation projects.
