About Moot Court Committee (MCC), School of Law

The Moot Court Committee (MCC) is the student-led body responsible for fostering mooting excellence. It organizes:

  • Novice Moot Court Competition
  • Internal Moot Court Competition
  • Surana & Surana and UPES School of Law, Insolvency Law Moot Court Competition
  • UPES School of Law International Moot Court Competition

MCC also conducts workshops, seminars and panel discussions to strengthen advocacy and research skills among students.

About the Opportunity

The UPES School of Law International Moot Court Competition, 2026 will be conducted in hybrid mode between March and April, 2026 under the banner of VidhiUtsav – III Edition.

The competition offers:

  • A global platform for law students to demonstrate advocacy and research skills
  • Exposure to distinguished academicians and legal professionals
  • Rigorous oral and written rounds
  • Researchers’ Test
  • Memorial Exchange
  • On-campus final rounds in Dehradun

It provides an opportunity to engage in a professionally structured competition designed to replicate real courtroom standards.

Theme

The competition is grounded in the complex domain of International Humanitarian Law (IHL), challenging participants to navigate legal principles governing armed conflicts, state responsibility, and humanitarian obligations.

Eligibility

As per the official competition framework:

  • Students enrolled in a 3-year or 5-year LL.B. programme from a recognised university are eligible to participate.
  • Each institution may register teams as per the rules mentioned in the Rulebook.
  • Detailed team composition, eligibility restrictions, and participation guidelines are available in the official Rulebook (Linktree).

Registration Fee

The Registration Fee is 5000/- per team.
