About the Organisation

The Faculty of Law, University of Colombo, Sri Lanka, established in 1947 and attaining independent faculty status in 1967, stands as the only Faculty of Law within the Sri Lankan state university system. Strategically located in the heart of Colombo, it is nationally and internationally recognized for its academic excellence, cutting-edge legal research, and interdisciplinary policy engagements.

The Kerala Law Academy (KLA), established in 1966 in Thiruvananthapuram, India, is a premier institution affiliated with the University of Kerala and approved by the Bar Council of India. KLA is celebrated for its vibrant academic programs, impactful legal research, and contributions to policy reform and social justice.

The Centre for Advanced Legal Studies and Research (CALSAR) serves as KLA’s dedicated research wing, focusing on interdisciplinary studies, legal reform, and policy advocacy across a broad spectrum of contemporary issues.
The Global Research Conference Forum (GRCF), headquartered in India, is a dynamic international academic platform fostering global networking, collaborative research, and scholarly innovation in law, governance, and social sciences.

About the Seminar/Conference

The International Conference on “Global Convergence: Multidisciplinary Perspectives on Law and Contemporary Challenges” will be held on September 13–14, 2025, at the Faculty of Law, University of Colombo, Sri Lanka, in a hybrid format (in-person and online).

This conference aims to address 21st-century challenges in law and governance by convening an esteemed gathering of jurists, scholars, policymakers, and practitioners. The event promises vibrant plenaries, paper presentations, and roundtables exploring how legal systems interact with contemporary global concerns such as climate change, digital disruption, democratic transitions, and socio-political transformations.

About Call for Papers

The conference invites abstracts and full papers addressing the main theme and its indicative sub-themes. Papers may be theoretical, empirical, comparative, or policy-oriented, reflecting a multidisciplinary perspective.

Formatting Guidelines

Abstract:

  • Word Limit: 250–300 words
  • Format: Title, Background, Objectives, Methodology, Key Findings, and Significance
  • Font: Times New Roman, 12 pt, 1.5 line spacing
  • Keywords: 4–6 in alphabetical order

Full Paper:

  • Word Limit: 4,000–6,000 words
  • Citation: Bluebook 21st Edition
  • Similarity Index: ≤10% (excluding references)
  • Structure: Title Page, Abstract & Keywords, Introduction, Literature Review, Research Problem, Objectives & Research Questions, Hypothesis (if needed), Research Methodology, Findings & Analysis, Conclusion & Recommendations, References
  • File Format: .doc/.docx

Submission Guidelines

• All submissions must be original and not previously published.
• Abstracts will undergo blind peer review for originality, clarity, and relevance.
• Acceptance of an abstract for conference presentation does not guarantee publication in journals.
• Full papers will be subject to editorial review and peer review for possible publication in Scopus/UGC-CARE indexed journals, conference proceedings with ISBN/ISSN, or in the Academy Law Review (India).
