About Integral Law Review

The Integral Law Review (“the Journal”) is the flagship legal periodical of the Faculty of Law, Integral University, Lucknow. The Faculty is guided by a conviction that legal understanding is best cultivated where rigorous classroom instruction meets sustained scholarly inquiry. Clinical legal education is integral to its identity, and the interplay of practice and research informs its intellectual outlook. The Journal was established to deepen that engagement and to champion intersectional legal scholarship.

Founded in January 2022, the Journal is published annually, with each issue appearing in October. It serves as a forum for scholars to advance original research that engages with the complexities of socio-legal life, and it makes that research accessible to a broad readership. Through its publications, the Journal seeks to make a constructive contribution to the legal fraternity. It aims to nurture a community of research-oriented scholars who bring versatility and critical insight to socio-legal questions, and to help build a legal community that is more inclusive, responsive and adaptable.

About Call for Papers

The Editorial Board of the Integral Law Review invites original, unpublished manuscripts for its forthcoming annual issue, to be released in October. Faithful to the Journal’s founding vision, we seek scholarship that moves beyond doctrinal exposition and engages critically, analytically and creatively with the most pressing legal questions of our time. Contributions are welcome from law students, academics, practitioners, judges and policy researchers united by a commitment to interdisciplinary and socio-legal inquiry.

The Integral Law Review is not content to chronicle legal developments. It seeks to interrogate them, situating law within the social, political, technological and ethical contexts that shape and are shaped by it. We hold that the most meaningful legal scholarship arises at the meeting point of disciplines, and we encourage contributors to carry that spirit of intersectionality into their work.

Theme

The Integral Law Review welcomes submissions across every field of law. No thematic restriction applies, provided the work is anchored in rigorous legal analysis. We especially encourage manuscripts that place law at their core while drawing on other academic disciplines, such as technology, global politics, the sciences, public policy, history, management, philosophy and psychology, among others. All submissions must be in English.

Eligibility

The Integral Law Review is an open platform, and we welcome contributions from law students, academics, practitioners, judges and policy researchers alike. Guided by a belief in equal opportunity, we consider every submission on the strength of its ideas and the rigor of its analysis, regardless of the author’s background, position, or affiliation.

Submission Categories

The Journal accepts the following categories:

• Academic Articles: 3000 – 6000 words
• Short Academic Essays: 2500 – 4500 words
• Case Comments: 1500 – 3000 words
• Review of Law and Treaty: 1500 – 3000 words
• Book Reviews: 900 – 1500 words
• Photo Essays: Minimum 10 Pictures with 2000 words supporting text

Submission Guidelines

• Submission is to be made in electronic form only and must be sent to [email protected] with the email subject ‘Submission – Integral Law Review’. Co-authorship should be limited to two.
• The manuscript must be submitted with an abstract, which shall not be more than 350 words and should contain a minimum of three keywords.
• The manuscript must be in English only, in Microsoft Word (MS Word) format, with the font size 12 in Times New Roman with 1.5 line spacing for the main text and size 10 in Times New Roman with single line spacing for footnotes. The author must adhere to the OSCOLA citation format.
• The manuscript must be accompanied by a covering email providing the author’s name and the name of the institution/organization. The author shall not include their name or any other identity in the manuscript, in any form.
• We encourage professional writing and expect authors to avoid foul or defamatory language.
• Submissions with AI-generated content up to 15% will be accepted for the review process.

Review and Publication Policies

The Integral Law Review is a peer-reviewed journal committed to a rigorous double-blind review process. Throughout the process, the identities of authors and reviewers are kept confidential from one another, so that each manuscript is evaluated impartially and solely on its originality, analytical depth, and scholarly merit.

Policies are as follows:

• The corresponding author is solely responsible for managing communication between co-authors and Integral Law Review.
• The corresponding author must ensure that all authors are included in the author list, that they are aware that the paper was submitted, and must provide a declaration of the same in the email.
• The corresponding author must ensure that all references and citations are correct, and that the submission does not contain any material that infringes copyright or is defamatory in nature, and must provide a declaration of the same in the email.
• The Board of Editors reserves the right to modify the manuscript to maintain the standard and quality of the submission, as per the standards. In case of any conflicts, the decision of the Board of Editors shall be final.
• We take thirty (30) days to communicate our decision regarding publication, and to process, publish, and distribute journal submissions accepted for publication.
• When you submit a manuscript to the Integral Law Review, we will take it to imply that the manuscript has not already been published or submitted elsewhere. You must not submit your manuscript elsewhere while it is under consideration at the Integral Law Review.

Important Dates

• Last Date for Submission: January 01, 2027
• Communication of Decision: The journal communicates its decision regarding publication within thirty (30) days of submission.
• Publication of Accepted Papers: Journal submissions accepted for publication are processed, published, and distributed in April

Fees

The Integral Law Review charges no fees at any stage of the submission, review, or publication process. We believe scholarship should be judged on its merit alone and never on the author’s ability to pay.
