Indian Centre for Child and Human Rights (ICCHR) establishes the Centre for Academic Research and Excellence (CARE)

In a significant development for the world of academia and legal research, the Indian Centre for Child and Human Rights (ICCHR) has officially inaugurated the Centre for Academic Research and Excellence (CARE) on Thursday, 28th September, 2023. The announcement was made through an Administrative Notification released by ICCHR.

CARE is a pioneering institution dedicated to the advancement of academic research and education has garnered considerable attention from the scholarly community and stakeholders in the field of law. Speaking about the establishment of CARE, Mr. Dipendu Das, Convener of ICCHR, expressed his enthusiasm, stating, “The Centre for Academic Research and Excellence (CARE) is an effort to provide a platform to every budding researcher, scholar and member of academia. ICCHR is deeply committed to its mission of promoting education and research; and this centre is aimed to be the hub of extensive research and promoting quality legal education.”

CARE, guided by its motto of “Promoting Academic Research and Education”, aims to serve as a catalyst for academic growth and scholarly pursuits. The centre is poised to play a pivotal role in advancing legal scholarship and promoting the understanding of various subjects of law and evolving jurisprudence.

As a testament to its commitment, CARE is set to launch its inaugural event on the auspicious occasion of Gandhi Jayanti on 2nd October, 2023. This event will mark the beginning of a series of educational initiatives, including seminars, webinars, workshops and academic publications which will provide a platform for researchers, scholars and students to engage in meaningful discourse and contribute to the field of law.

To oversee the operations and activities of CARE, a Special Committee comprising Senior Officials of ICCHR has been established. This committee will play a crucial role in shaping the direction and impact of the new center.

In the coming weeks, CARE will also notify its permanent members, further solidifying its presence in the realm of academic research and legal education.

The establishment of CARE represents a significant step forward in advancing the cause of child and human rights through knowledge, research and education. It is expected to create a positive impact on the academic community and contribute to the development of legal jurisprudence.
