About the Parasol Foundation International LL.M.

Israel has a strong reputation for legal expertise, and Tel Aviv University’s most prestigious program is the Parasol Foundation International LL.M. This program includes a strong focus on globalization as a context for legal studies and law-based discourse relating to the Middle East’s regional and international conflicts.

About the event

The Parasol Foundation International LL.M. launches its first essay writing competition in India, Nepal, and Sri Lanka. To enter the competition, candidates are required to be currently enrolled in a law degree at the undergraduate level in their respective countries or can be recent LL.B. graduates. Winning entries will be awarded a total of $13,300 as financial aid for the LL.M. program.

The essay topics are in consonance with the three specializations offered by the International LL.M. program: Law and Technology, International Law and Human Rights, and Business Law.

• Business Law: New ways for laws to support innovation.

• Law & Technology: Should we regulate fake news on digital platforms?

The academic director of the program, Prof. Ronen Avraham, explains, “The main purpose of this competition is to attract quality candidates, who would be a good fit for the program, which has been built on the foundation of outstanding academic, clinical, library, and administrative staff, external teachers, visiting lecturers, and most importantly—a vibrant student community.” Prof. Avraham is particularly keen on encouraging South East Asia’s participation for the program, adding,”These students bring a perspective that is otherwise lacking”.
