About the University

Established in 2011, Oriental University is the first self-financed private University in Indore. Part of the esteemed Oriental Group, a leader in education across Central India since 1995, it is renowned for providing quality education in Madhya Pradesh. The Faculty of Law, Oriental University offers high-quality legal education at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, including BA.LL.B. {Hons.} (5 Year), LL.B {Hons} (3 Year), and LL.M. (1 Year Course), all recognized and approved by the Bar Council of India (BCI). In addition to these programs, the college provides diploma and certificate courses specializing in areas such as Cyber Laws, Intellectual Property Rights (IPR), Environmental Law and Policy, Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR), and Medico-Legal Systems.

About the Opportunity

Faculty of Law, Oriental University, Indore {M.P.} is organizing the First Law Fest-Vidhi Ekta Mahotsav 2024. Embark on a journey of legal discovery and innovation with the inaugural National Law Fest organized by the esteemed Faculty of Law at Oriental University, Indore.

• Location (country/state/city): ONLINE {Preliminary Round and Quarter-finals} and OFFLINE {Semi-finals and Final}
• Date of event: 12^th  August onwards{Online event} ; Offline Phase: 25-27 September, 2024

This year, we are excited to offer a blend of online and offline events, ensuring an inclusive and engaging experience for students across India. Our fest promises to be enriching, offering a mix of insightful discussions. We invite you to join us on this journey of knowledge, collaboration, and growth. The fest will feature a total of 10 events, including:

• Telecom Regulatory Governance Discussion Forum: Dialogues and Policy Paper Presentation on the current Indian Legal Framework.
• Harmony and Resolution Tournament: 1st National Lok Adalat Competition.
• Human Rights Legal Summit: Advocating for Justice and Equality.
• Uniting Legal Minds through Legal Podcast: Unlock the World of Law.
• Justice through Legal Lens: National Legal Documentary Competition.
• Extempore Moot Court Competition.
• Legal Advocacy Elevation and Crafting Justice: PIL Drafting and Pleading Competition.
• Kaun Banega Vidhi Vidhwan: National Legal Quiz Competition.
• Excellence in Higher Education Awards: Innovative Initiatives.
• Legal SharkTank: Turning Startup Ideas into Reality.

Eligibility

Eligibility criteria vary based on event rules. Generally, students pursuing their undergraduate or postgraduate studies in law (including integrated 3-year LLB, 5-year BALLB/BBA LLB, or LLM) from any institution in India are eligible to participate. However, exceptions apply for three events:

• In the “Excellence in Higher Education Awards: Innovative Initiatives” event, only working professionals can participate.
• In the “Human Rights Legal Summit,” both working professionals and students are eligible to participate.
• In the “Telecom Regulatory Legal Framework: Policy Paper Presentation”, both working professionals and students are eligible to participate.

Prizes

Cash prizes and trophies totalling up to Rs. 1,70,000 will be awarded, along with a special Champion Trophy and a cash prize of Rs. 51,000, to the college, university, or institute that scores the highest across all events. Please refer to the event format in the brochure for more details.
