About Essay Writing Competition

Writing is a cornerstone of the legal profession, serving as a crucial skill for law students and practitioners alike. Recognizing the importance of this skill, Team Lexica Juris is proud to announce its initiative to host a series of article writing competitions designed to enhance legal writing abilities among law students.

Eligibility

Pursuing LL.B. /B.A. LL.B./ B.B.A. LL.B./ B.Sc. LL.B. / B.Com. or any other relevant courses

Theme

  • The effectiveness of Alternate Dispute Resolution to resolve the Disputes.
  • Civil or Criminal: Defamation on social media.
  • Liabilities and Challenges of States in the Era of Space Explorations.
  • Navigating Liabilities in Deep Sea Exploration under Law of the Sea.
  • Settling the Constitutional Debate of Uniform Civil Code and Religious Freedom along with Cultural Autonomy.
  • Usability of Advertisement Act: Impact of advertisement with special reference to advertisement of adult-only products during the prohibited time period.
  • Are Men Really Safe in India: Questioning the extraordinary gap between reported and unreported crimes against men.

Guidelines

  • Registration for the competition shall be done only via the form attached. Once participants have registered for the event, the submission link will be shared with the registered email IDs.
  • Co-authorship is permitted but restricted to a maximum of two individuals per Article.
  • Formatting Guidelines
  • All the entries must be formatted in Times New Roman, with a Font Size of 12, and Line spacing of 1.5.
  • All entries should contain footnote citations formatted in Times New Roman, Font Size 10, and Single Line spacing.
  • The Article should be accompanied by a 200-word abstract which will not be counted towards the word limit. The word limit, inclusive of footnotes, shall be 4000 words.
  • Footnotes must follow the citation system specified in Harvard Blue Book, 20 Edition.

Submission Guidelines

  • The paper must be the original and unpublished work of the author should not be in consideration for publication or in a contest elsewhere and must be related to one/more theme(s)/sub-theme(s).
  • All manuscripts must be submitted only via the form sent to their registered email. The name of the file shall be the title of the Article.
  • All submissions are to be made in .docx format.
  • The author shall not disclose any information regarding the identity, including, but not limited to name, institutional assistance, professional details, etc., within the body of the manuscript. Non-adherence of this rule will lead to immediate disqualification.
  • All essays would be checked for similarity and those with similarity index more than 10% would be liable for rejection. (Use of AI of any form is strictly prohibited.)
  • In case of any conflicts Lexica Juris Team shall be the final authority on the guidelines

  • Submission Ends: 25 September, 2024
  • Result Declaration: Soon after the Submission
