About the Conference

Jogesh Chandra Chaudhuri Law College Students’ Union is excited to announce the national debate competition, the ” Dr. B. R. Ambedkar National Debate Competition 2025.”

Theme

The debate will follow the Oxford Style format, promoting structured argumentation, rebuttal, and persuasive discourse. This format not only challenges participants to think on their feet but also sharpens their advocacy skills, fostering a spirit of healthy dialogue and democratic expression, true to the ideals Dr. Ambedkar stood for.

Eligibility

The B.R. Ambedkar National Debate Competition is open to all undergraduate students pursuing any discipline from recognised universities and institutions across India. Whether you are studying law, humanities, social sciences, commerce, or any other field, you are welcome to participate. This inclusive eligibility ensures a diverse range of perspectives and voices, enriching the quality of debate and discussion.

Registration fee

To confirm participation in the B.R. Ambedkar National Debate Competition, a nominal registration fee of ₹200 per team is required. This fee helps us facilitate a well-organised event, including quality judging, certificates, and other logistical arrangements. Each team must consist of two members, and the fee covers participation for both. We encourage early registration to secure your spot and ensure a smooth coordination process.

Prizes

To honour excellence in debate and public speaking, the B.R. Ambedkar National Debate Competition offers trophies to the winning team, runner-up, and best speaker. These trophies symbolise not just victory, but the intellectual rigour, clarity of thought, and oratory skills demonstrated by the participants.
