About NUSRL
The National University of Study and Research in Law, Ranchi (NUSRL) is a university of national repute in imparting legal education. The State of Jharkhand established the university through Act No. 04 of 2010. The University offers two 5‑year integrated law courses (B.A. LL.B. and B.B.A. LL.B.), a 1‑year LL.M., and a Ph.D. in Law, along with interdisciplinary research opportunities. NUSRL currently caters to around 700 students across undergraduate, postgraduate, and research programs. The University has produced graduates who have become civil judges, magistrates, advocates in various High Courts and the Supreme Court of India, along with many academicians and researchers.

It emphasises how strong legal structuring, funding mechanisms, and compliance frameworks help transform business ideas into sustainable enterprises.
About The Symposium
The Convergence of Law & Economics 2.0: Bankruptcy, Startups & Beyond is a one-day symposium organised by the Centre for Business Laws, NUSRL Ranchi. Building upon the success of its first edition, the second edition seeks to deepen discussions on the evolving relationship between legal frameworks and economic realities in contemporary markets.
The symposium aims to bring together law firm partners, corporate practitioners, academicians, researchers, policymakers, and students to discuss emerging issues in corporate law and economic regulation. Through panel discussions, academic engagement, and collaborative dialogue, the event will examine how legal structures influence entrepreneurship, investment ecosystems, insolvency processes, and financial governance. By bridging perspectives from both academia and industry, the symposium aims to provide a platform for intellectual engagement on bankruptcy regimes, startup ecosystems, venture financing, and regulatory innovation.
About Call For Papers
The symposium invites students, academicians, researchers, and legal practitioners to submit original and unpublished research papers addressing issues within the theme and sub-themes of the symposium.
The paper presentation segment is intended to encourage scholarly engagement with contemporary debates at the intersection of law and economics.
Selected authors will have the opportunity to present their research before a panel comprising academicians and legal practitioners, fostering meaningful academic discussion and feedback.
Eligibility
The symposium is open to students, research scholars, academicians, and legal practitioners interested in corporate law, insolvency law, and economic regulation.
THEME – Transforming Credit Landscape: A Decade Of The Insolvency And Bankruptcy Code
The symposium focuses on examining the transformation of India’s credit and insolvency framework following the introduction of the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code, 2016 (IBC). Over the past decade, the IBC has significantly reshaped creditor–debtor relationships, strengthened institutional mechanisms for insolvency resolution, and influenced investment and lending practices in India. The discussions aim to explore how legal reforms interact with economic realities to shape credit markets, corporate restructuring, and entrepreneurial ecosystems.

Participants may submit papers on the theme of the symposium or any of the following indicative sub-themes:

Paper Presentation
Following the abstract submission stage, selected authors will be invited to submit full research papers for further evaluation.
From the submitted papers, eight papers will be shortlisted for presentation at the symposium.
The selection process will be based on:
- Originality of the research
- Analytical depth and clarity
- Relevance to the symposium theme
- Quality of legal and economic analysis
Submission Guidelines
Abstract Submission
Abstracts must be 250–300 words outlining the research question, objectives, methodology, and expected findings.
Authors must include 4–5 keywords with the abstract.

- Font: Times New Roman
- Font Size: 12
- Line Spacing: 1.5
- Alignment: Justified
- Margins: 1 inch on all sides
Word Limit – 1000 -1500
Citation Style
Bluebook 21st Edition or any uniform legal citation style must be followed consistently.
Submission Procedure
- Submissions must be made through the designated Google Form using the registered email ID.
- Co-authorship is permitted for a maximum of two authors.
