About West Bengal National University of Juridical Sciences
The West Bengal National University of Juridical Sciences (WBNUJS), Kolkata, established under the WBNUJS Act, 1999, is one of India’s premier National Law Universities, with the Hon’ble Chief Justice of India serving as its Chancellor. The University received formal recognition under the University Grants Commission Act, 1956, in August 2004, and permanent affiliation from the Bar Council of India in July 2005, and has since garnered national acclaim for its rigorous academic environment across legal education and beyond.
The Centre for Financial & Regulatory Governance Studies (CFRGS) was established at WBNUJS in 2015 to undertake interdisciplinary research evaluating and addressing contemporary financial, regulatory, and public policy challenges, bringing together academics, practitioners, and students to examine issues shaping India’s regulatory landscape.

About the Conference
India’s labour law framework is undergoing one of the most significant transformations since Independence, with the consolidation of twenty-nine central labour legislations into four comprehensive Labour Codes. “Code Shift: A National Conclave on Navigating the Labour Codes” is a two-day national platform bringing together judges, senior advocates, regulators, labour commissioners, corporate leaders, tax professionals, academicians, and industry experts to deliberate on the legal, regulatory, and practical challenges surrounding the implementation of these Codes, in furtherance of the national vision of Viksit Bharat 2047.
The deliberations, along with the selected research contributions, will be consolidated into a White Paper serving as a reference for legislators, regulators, and industry stakeholders.
Eligibility
Academicians, legal practitioners, research scholars, undergraduate and postgraduate students, HR and compliance professionals, policymakers, regulators, and industry stakeholders working on labour law, financial regulation, taxation, or corporate governance are welcome to submit.

Interested contributors must submit an abstract of their proposed paper through the designated Google Form.
Authors of selected abstracts will subsequently be invited to submit their full paper for presentation at the Conclave.
Submission Categories
- Abstract Submission (mandatory first step for all contributors)
- Full Paper — Online Presentation
- Full Paper — Offline Presentation
- Conclave Participation without Presentation (for delegates not submitting a paper)
Submission Guidelines
- Abstract: maximum up to 1,000 words
- Full Paper: 4,000–5,000 words, exclusive of footnotes; papers will be screened through Turnitin
- Co-authorship: one co-author permitted (maximum two authors per paper)
- Citation Style: NUJS Citation Standard to be strictly followed
- All submissions must be original and unpublished
Processing Charges
There is no separate abstract processing fee. A presentation fee, payable per author upon selection, applies as follows:
- Online Presentation: ₹3,500 per author
- Offline Presentation: ₹2,500 per author
General Instructions
- Abstract Submission Deadline: 7th September 2026
- Selected abstracts will be invited to present the corresponding paper at the Conclave on 12–13 September 2026, either online or offline, as per the author’s convenience.
- Thereafter, papers are to be submitted by October 31, 2026.
- A Certificate of Presentation and Participation will be issued to all presenters.
- The two best papers among those selected will be published in the NUJS Law Review subject to NUJS Law Review publishability standards; other meritorious papers meeting publication standards will be published by the CFRGS Centre.
- All submissions must strictly adhere to the word limits, citation standard, and co-authorship norms specified above.
