About the workshop

Code.Court.Future is a National Workshop on “The Nuances, Applications, and Legal Literacy Surrounding AI in India” organized by Xavier Law School, St. Xavier’s University, Kolkata, in association with Technology Counsel Foundation (TECOF), IIT Kharagpur. The programme is conceived as a focused, single-day national event aimed at promoting both technological understanding and legal literacy regarding Artificial Intelligence (AI). The workshop seeks to address the growing need for interdisciplinary education by combining, technical understanding of Artificial Intelligence, ethical dimensions of AI, legal and regulatory frameworks governing AI, data protection and privacy laws, practical application through simulations and debate. The programme is built around three interconnected pillars: 

  • AI Literacy 
  • Understanding AI’s impact on law and work 
  • Real-world policy and privacy discussions through structured debate

Eligibility

  • Undergraduate and postgraduate law students. 
  • Students from allied disciplines with an interest in AI, technology, policy, governance, or data protection. 
  • Participants from colleges and universities across Kolkata and neighbouring regions.
