About the National Law University Odisha (NLUO)
The National Law University Odisha (NLUO) is a vibrant addition to India’s national law universities. Within the short span, NLUO has made its mark as a university engaged in teaching and research in law.The University has received recognition from the University Grants Commission (UGC) under Section 12(b) of the UGC Act 1956, and has been receiving grants under the XIIth Plan. Its degrees offered are recognised by the Bar Council of India. It is also an associate member of the UGC-INFLIBNET, and a participant in the National Knowledge Network under the Ministry of Information Technology and Communication, Government of India.
About the Centre
The Centre for Women & Law (CWL) is a Research Centre of National Law University Odisha which works with the combined effort of faculty members and students of NLUO. The Centre was established with a view of having a platform for the unremitting study of the structural, societal, legal and regulatory issues associated with gender from a multi-disciplinary perspective.
About the Opportunity
The Centre for Women & Law is now inviting submissions in the form of poems, posters, art, personal experiences for its compendium titled Paper Castles. Paper Castles is aimed to generate the spirit of togetherness to stand against the biases.
All entries will get a certificate of participation and the best entries in each category will get exciting cash prizes.
General Guidelines
There are three categories to the submissions: a) short stories b) poems c) posters and other art forms. The submissions should be based on the theme for this Women’s Day #BreaktheBias. The event is open to everyone.The last date for submissions is 6th March 2022, 11:59 pm
Submission guidelines
· Submissions should be the original work of the contributor and should not have been published elsewhere. Any form of plagiarism is strictly prohibited and the submission shall be original, unpublished, and an outcome of the author’s own efforts.
· The format shall be Times New Roman, Font Size 12 Justified Alignment and Line Spacing 1.5.
· The submissions have to be in English and Hindi language only.
· The name and institution of the author(s) should be mentioned in the submission.
· Co-authorship is not permitted.
· There is no word limit for the submissions.
· Submissions should not contain any offensive, abusive, derogatory or potentially defamatory content.
· All submissions for the Centre by student authors must be uploaded via the Google Forms only. Kindly do not send submissions via email.
Prize Money: The best entry in each category will be awarded a cash prize of 1000 INR.
