About Council for International Relations and International Law
The Council for International Relations and International Law (CIRIL) is a student-run committee at the National Law School of India University, Bangalore. It works to promote scholarship and interest in the fields of international law, international relations, and foreign policy. To this end, we organise competitions, periodic lectures, reading circles, and symposia.
Recently, CIRIL in collaboration with the NLSIU’s UNHCR Chair on Refugee Law, successfully hosted a talk titled Reconsidering Dignity in Theory and Practice” by Prof. Susan Marks, Professor of International Law at the London School of Economics, a renowned scholar in the field of international law and human rights.
About CIRIL Magazine
The magazine is a new initiative started by CIRIL to encourage more discourse on international law and relations. The magazine is dedicated to exploring diverse dimensions of international law- from human rights, trade, environmental law, and humanitarian law to emerging topics like digital governance, global health law, and transnational justice.
It seeks engaging, thought-provoking, and well-researched pieces that challenge conventional wisdom, shed light on underexplored areas, and engage critically with contemporary debates. This is designed as an exercise to bring fresh perspectives, innovative insights, or critical reflections on pressing international legal issues shaping the global landscape.
