About NLIU-International Trade Law Journal

The NLIU-International Trade Law Journal (ITLJ), launched in 2021, is an annual, double-blind, peer-reviewed journal dedicated to promoting quality research and facilitating intellectual discourse in the realm of international trade law. The Journal serves as an academic platform for students, academicians, legal professionals, and scholars across the globe to contribute to contemporary discussions on trade law and related legal disciplines.

Previous editions of the Journal have explored the evolving role of international trade law in shaping the global economy, along with critical insights into legal, policy, and institutional developments.

Theme

Submissions are invited on any topic of contemporary relevance in the field of International Trade Law and its related legal disciplines.

Submission Categories & Word Limit

Submissions may be made under the following categories:

  • Long Articles: 6,000–8,000 words (exclusive of footnotes and bibliography)
  • Short Articles: 4,000–6,000 words (exclusive of footnotes and bibliography)
  • Case Comments & Legislative Notes: 1,500–2,500 words (exclusive of footnotes and bibliography)

All submissions must be original, unpublished, and adhere to the word limits.

Submission Guidelines

  • Abstract: Each submission must include an abstract of 300 words.
  • Authorship: Co-authorship is allowed up to two authors.
  • Citation Style: OSCOLA (Oxford University Standard for the Citation of Legal Authorities), 4th Edition.
  • Formatting:
    • Font: Times New Roman
    • Font Size: 12 for the body, 10 for footnotes
    • Line Spacing: 1.5 for the body, 1 for footnotes
    • Alignment: Justified
  • Plagiarism: Strictly prohibited. Submissions with a plagiarism percentage exceeding 10% will be rejected.

Eligibility

The NLIU-International Trade Law Journal welcomes submissions from undergraduate and postgraduate students, academicians, industry professionals, and research scholars.

Submission Procedure

All submissions must be emailed to itlj[at]nliu.ac.in with the subject line: “Submission for ITLJ Volume IV.”

Submissions must include a separate document with the following details:

  • Full Name(s) of the Author(s)
  • Title of the Submission
  • Institutional Affiliation (Name of College/University)
  • Programme Enrolled & Year of Study (if applicable)
  • Email Address and Contact Number
  • Brief Bio of the Author(s)

Important Date

The last date to submit manuscripts for NLIU-International Trade Law Journal (Volume IV) is February 15, 2025 (11:59 PM IST). Submissions received after this deadline will not be considered.
