Avi Singh Becomes the First Indian Advocate to Join Temple Garden Chambers

Delhi based Senior Advocate Avi Singh is the first Indian lawyer to join the historic Temple Garden Chambers, as an Associate Tenant 

Senior Advocate Avi Singh, an experienced Delhi based criminal law practitioner and arbitration specialist, has joined Temple Garden Chambers as an Associate Tenant. He is the first advocate based in India to join Temple Garden Chambers, a historic and market-leading common law and specialist international law set, with chambers in London and The Hague, and a strong reputation for providing first-class advocacy and advisory services across domestic and international forums.

Temple Garden Chambers has 14 King’s Counsels and 62 juniors who pride themselves on providing the highest quality advice and advocacy. 12 of their juniors are appointed to the Attorney General’s Panel and, together with a number of King’s Counsels, undertake work on behalf of the British Crown. Mr. Singh has routinely appeared before the Supreme Court of India, High Courts, specialist courts, and arbitral tribunals. His practice mainly focuses on serious and complex criminal matters, international and domestic arbitration, and transnational litigation, including major fraud and money laundering. He

also engages in public interest and international human rights law matters, including representing Bhopal Gas Tragedy victim groups in proceedings concerning corporate criminal liability, and acting for the family of Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Danish Siddiqui in claims arising from his killing in Afghanistan. His past roles include Former Additional Standing Counsel (Criminal) for the Government of Delhi before the Delhi High Court and Professor at the International University College, Turin. He is the Deputy Director General of the Institute for the Rule of Law at the Union Internationale des Avocats and is widely published on a range of legal subjects.
