Kristu Jayanti University, established in 1999, is a higher education institution committed to excellence in teaching, research and innovation. The University attained autonomous status in 2013 and was conferred the status of Deemed to be University under Section 3 of the UGC Act, 1956, by the Ministry of Education, Government of India, on July 8, 2025.

About the School of Law
The School of Law, Kristu Jayanti (Deemed to be University), Bengaluru, was established in 2017 with the objective of nurturing legal professionals well-versed in justice, ethics and social obligations.
The School offers five-year integrated law programmes including B.A. LL.B. (H), B.Com. LL.B. (H), and B.B.A. LL.B. (H), along with an LL.M. programme.
The School of Law has been accredited as part of Kristu Jayanti (Deemed to be University), which holds an A++ NAAC accreditation. In the India Today-MDRA Survey of Best Colleges in India 2026, the School of Law was ranked 5th among law colleges in Bengaluru City and 26th at the national level.
About the ADR Cell
The Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) Cell of the School of Law, Kristu Jayanti, works towards promoting awareness and practical knowledge of alternative dispute resolution mechanisms among law students.

The Cell conducts mediation competitions, workshops, ADR sessions, intra- and inter-collegiate competitions, ADR summits and expert sessions involving legal professionals, certified mediators and judges. Its activities focus on developing students’ critical thinking, communication, negotiation and problem-solving skills.
About the Opportunity
ACCORDO 2.0 – Intercollegiate Mediation Competition 2026 is designed to provide law students with an opportunity to develop and demonstrate their skills in mediation, negotiation and dialogue, while engaging with challenging dispute-resolution scenarios.
The competition aims to sharpen participants’ negotiation skills, deepen their legal acumen and provide an opportunity to interact and compete with students from institutions across India.
The competition will be conducted in hybrid mode, with the Preliminary Rounds being conducted virtually and the Advanced Rounds being conducted offline at the School of Law, Kristu Jayanti, Bengaluru.
Eligibility
- The competition is open to students enrolled in a 3-year or 5-year law programme in universities/colleges recognised by the Bar Council of India.
- Each team shall consist of three members.
- Each team shall comprise one Mediator and a Mediating Pair, consisting of one Client and one Counsel.
- Cross-institutional teams are not permitted.
- A maximum of two teams per college/institution may participate.
- Any changes to the eligibility criteria shall be subject to the discretion of the ADR Cell.
Team Composition
Each participating team must consist of three members from the same institution:
- One Mediator
- One Client
- One Counsel
The Client and Counsel together constitute the Mediating Pair.
After final registration, no team shall be permitted to change its composition or assigned roles during any round. No team shall be accompanied by a coach or instructor.
Structure of the Competition

- All registered teams will compete in two preliminary rounds, with each round lasting 30 minutes.
- Mode: Online
- The top 20 teams will advance to the Pre-Quarter Finals.
- Duration: 30 minutes
- Mode: Offline
- The top 8 teams will advance to the Quarter Finals.
- Format: Knock-out
- Duration: 30 minutes
- Mode: Offline
- Four teams will compete in the Semi-Finals.
- Format: Knock-out
- Duration: 45 minutes
- Mode: Offline
- The final two teams will compete for the championship.
- Duration: 60 minutes
- Mode: Offline
Release of Confidential Information
- Confidential Information (CI) for the Preliminary Rounds will be released 15 minutes prior to each round via email.
- CI for the Pre-Quarter Finals, Quarter Finals, Semi-Finals and Final will be released 30 minutes prior to each round.
Registration Fee
- Preliminary Rounds: ₹2,000/- per team
- Advanced Rounds: Additional ₹3,000/- per qualifying team
Registration will be conducted on a first-come, first-served basis, with a maximum of two teams permitted from each institution.
The preliminary registration fee is non-refundable once payment has been made. Payment can be made through bank transfer/UPI, with payment details being shared upon confirmation of provisional registration.
Upon registration, teams will receive a confirmation email from the ADR Cell and will be allotted a unique Team Code.
Prize Pool: ₹75,000/-
The competition carries a total prize pool of ₹75,000/-, comprising:
- ₹30,000/- – Best Mediating Pair
- ₹15,000/- – Best Mediator
- ₹20,000/- – Runners-Up Mediating Pair
- ₹10,000/- – Runners-Up Mediator
Participation certificates will be issued to all participants.

Clarifications
Participants may seek clarifications regarding the preliminary problem on or before 8 October 2026.
Requests for clarification must be submitted via email to [email protected] and must be clear and related to the problem. Clarifications sought by participants will be communicated to the primary contact person by 10 October 2026.
Rules and Regulations
- The competition will be administered by the ADR Cell, School of Law, Kristu Jayanti (Deemed to be University).
- Participants are required to comply with the competition rules and maintain professional decorum throughout the competition. Participants shall not directly approach or contact the judges.
- The use of electronic devices during the rounds is prohibited, and the decision of the judges shall be final and binding.
- The official language of the competition is English, and participants are required to follow a business formal dress code with a black blazer. Participants must also produce their College ID Card along with a Bonafide Certificate for verification.
Code of Conduct
- Any attempt to approach the problem framers or judges prior to the competition may result in immediate disqualification without scope for appeal.
- All grievances must be presented to the Grievance Committee or Organising Committee, whose decision shall be final and binding.
- Teams will be identified through their assigned alphanumeric Team Codes throughout the competition.
- Misconduct, violation of competition rules, or indiscipline towards judges, organisers, volunteers or staff may result in disqualification.
Accommodation
- Accommodation details and payment information will be communicated to teams qualifying for the Advanced Rounds.
- Participants may avail dormitory accommodation at ₹112/- per participant per night. Accommodation will not be provided to teams from within Bengaluru, and accommodation for male and female participants will be provided separately.

The offline rounds will be conducted at:

The campus is approximately 25 km from Kempegowda International Airport, 11.2 km from K.R. Puram Railway Station and 10 km from Baiyappanahalli Metro Station.
