New Law College was established in 1954. New Law College is one of the prestigious and old Law Colleges in Mumbai.
About the Competition
NLC takes immense pride in organizing its 9th NATIONAL QUIZ COMPETITION, 2024. It is for the first time it is conducting the Quiz Competition in an ONLINE MODE. NLC has always been active in the quality education and development of the students. NLC takes pride in providing this opportunity to all the students from different law Institutes to participate and connect.
The sole objective of the Competition is to enhance the extensive and scrupulous legal knowledge among the students. Thus, this creates a window for the students to prepare and participate in the Competition. To keep up with the new technology, NLC has organized the said competition online for the students to participate.
Subjects of the Competition
- Preliminary Round: Constitutional Law I (Article 1 to 35), Contract Act, Sales of Goods Act, Specific Relief Act
- Final Round: The Indian Penal Code, Evidence Act, The Criminal Procedure Code, Jurisprudence.
Rules for the Law Quiz Competition
The National Law Quiz Competition shall be Online Mode, based on multiple choice questions with four options. The said Quiz Competition is constituted of two rounds only i.e.; Preliminary and Final Rounds.
Eligibility
- Open to all the students from any Law college, recognized in India.
- Any number of students from one College/ University/ Law institute can participate in the Quiz Contest.
- Each college can send the name of one or more than one student for participation in the Quiz Competition.
- Each participant student has to fill out an individual G-form and make the respective payment.
Important Dates:
- Registration Link opens @10.00 am: 10th February, 2024
- Registration Link closes @12.00 pm: 23rd March, 2024
- Date of the Competition: 28th March, 2024.
- Result Declaration: 28th March, 2024.
Format of Quiz
- Question paper shall be made available in the g- form
- It shall consist of questions with four options.
Schedule of the Competition and time
- Preliminary round begins at – 10.00 am
- Result declaration of the Preliminary Round: 11.15am
- Final Round begins – 12.00 pm
- Result declaration of Final Round: 1.00 pm
Preliminary Round
- The First Round shall consist of 60 questions from Constitutional law (article 1 to 35), Contract Act, Sales of Goods Act, Specific Relief Act
- It shall consist of 60 questions.
- Each question will have 4 options.
- The participant should select only one correct option.
- Each question carries 1 mark.
- There shall be no negative marking.
- The said time allotted for the First Round is of 30 minutes only.
- The participant student shall not be given any discount in the time in any case whatsoever.
- The student participants should take precautions that there is proper internet connection from their side.
- After completion of the paper the student participants needs to submit the paper before 10.30 am
- After 10.30 minutes the given link shall be disabled. The said link shall not be opened for submission thereafter.
- After the preliminary round the results shall be declared after half an hour.
- Five participants shall be selected from the first round to the final round.
Final Round
- The Final Round shall be based on The Indian Penal Code, 1860, The Indian Evidence Act, 1872, The Criminal Procedure Code, 1973, The Juvenile Justice Code, 2015, Jurisprudence.
- It shall consist of 80 questions. Each question will have 4 options.
- The participant should select only one correct answer.
- Each question carries 1 mark.
- There shall be no negative marking.
- The said time allotted for the Final Round is of 30 minutes only.
- The participant student shall not be given any discount in the time in any case whatsoever.
- The link for the Final Round shall be disabled after 30 minutes from the commencement of the Final Round.
General Instructions for the Participants
- Participants of each college can use a computer/ laptop or mobile, with the facility of the camera and mike.
- All participants shall receive the link for the preliminary round and the final round five minutes before each round starts.
- During the Quiz Competition the participants should keep their camera and mike on all the time.
- To avoid any kind of disturbance the student participants should sit in a preferably quiet place.
- Please note that no additional time shall be given to the participants.
Rules for Disqualification
- Any kind of unfair practice by the participant.
- If the participant is not able to connect or has lost the internet connection and is not able to participate due to any reason. The organizers shall not be held responsible for the same.
- The decisions of the organizer / judges shall be final and binding.
- It shall be the sole discretion of the organizers to change any rule at any time, in case of any changes shall be informed to the candidates before the application of the said rule/s.
- In case of any other dispute, the decision of the organizer shall be final and binding.

- 1st Price: Rs. 2000/-

- E- certificates to the First two winners
- E- Certificate of Merit to top 5
- All participants shall be given E- certificates for participation within 15 days on the registered email address.
