Rajiv Gandhi School of Intellectual Property Law (RGSOIPL) at IIT Kharagpur is the first and only law school within the prestigious IIT system, bridging the gap between technology and legal education.
About the Opportunity
The two-day academic programme will bring together research scholars, faculty members, legal practitioners, policymakers and other members of the legal and technology communities to engage with contemporary questions at the intersection of law, technology and accountability. The central theme addresses an increasingly important question in contemporary legal scholarship: who should be accountable in a technology-driven, rapidly evolving environment, and through what legal mechanisms?

The Colloquium particularly explores emerging legal questions surrounding:
- Algorithmic liability and technological accountability;
- Data, privacy and surveillance architectures;
- AI, platforms and emerging regulatory frameworks;
- Intellectual property in the age of generative AI;
- Blockchain, biotechnology, synthetic biology and related emerging technologies; and
- Semiconductor law, supply chains and technological sovereignty.
Theme
“Navigating the Wild: Law, Technology and the Architecture of Accountability”
Call for Extended Abstracts
Research scholars, faculty members and practitioners are invited to submit extended abstracts on the central theme or any of the indicative sub-themes.
- Extended Abstract: 500–800 words, including citations
- Citation Style: OSCOLA (latest edition)
- Maximum Authors: Two authors
- Review: Blind peer review
- Submission Format: Microsoft Word (.docx)
- Last Date for Submission: 15 October 2026
- Acceptance: Communicated within 48 hours of submission
Submissions are accepted through the designated Google Form. The organising committee is accepting submissions on a rolling basis and encourages early submission.

Registration Fee
The registration fee is:
- Students/Research Scholars – ₹750
- Faculty/Industry – ₹1,500
- SAARC participants (other than India) – USD 15 / USD 50 respectively
- Non-SAARC participants – USD 50 / USD 100 respectively
Fees are exclusive of applicable taxes.
Presenters receive Certificates of Presentation and Participation, while registered participants receive a Certificate of Participation. The Colloquium also provides for a Best Paper Award and Best Presentation Award.
