About The Opportunity

The Bangalore Institute of Legal Studies (BILS) is proud to announce its flagship moot court competition, the 7th Edition of Lex Fortissimus.

Theme

The Bangalore Institute of Legal Studies (BILS) proudly presents the 7th Edition of Lex Fortissimus, its flagship moot court competition, dedicated to fostering excellence in legal research, advocacy, and critical analysis among aspiring legal professionals. This year’s moot proposition is anchored in the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985 (NDPS Act), situated within the complexities of a rapidly evolving digital healthcare ecosystem.

Beyond the NDPS framework, the proposition expands into multiple contemporary legal domains. It examines the admissibility and evidentiary value of electronic records under the Bharatiya SakshyaAdhiniyam, 2023, the legality of digital surveillance and data access in light of constitutional privacy protections, and the financial implications of alleged illicit transactions under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act, 2002.

Additionally, it touches upon regulatory ambiguities surrounding AI enabled medical advisory systems under the Drugs and Cosmetics Act, 1940, highlighting the challenges posed by technological innovation to existing legal frameworks.
