VIT School of Law (Approved by BCI No. D 331/2014(LE)), the progeny of VIT University entered the legal arena in 2014, aiming at high goals to be achieved. The Law School aims to impart quality legal education to nourish young minds with the knowledge of law, teach them the nuances of the legal profession, and equip them to the nitty-gritty of the profession.

About the Opportunity

VITSOL is set to host its prestigious 5 National Moot Court Competition in 2024, focusing on Intellectual Property (IP) and Competition Law. This highly anticipated event aims to bring together aspiring legal minds from across the country to engage in rigorous advocacy and deliberation.

Participants will tackle complex issues within the realms of intellectual property rights and competition law, showcasing their legal acumen and proficiency in argumentation. With a commitment to fostering a deeper understanding of these critical legal domains, the competition promises to provide a platform for participants to sharpen their skills, network with peers, and gain insights from esteemed judges and practitioners in the field.

Eligibility

The Competition is open for students pursuing a three or five-year LL.B Degree Course from any recognised College/University/Law School subject to the fulfilment of registration formalities.

Prizes

  • Winning Team Award: A trophy, Cash prize, and a Certificate.
  • Runners-up Team Award: A trophy, Cash prize, and a Certificate.
  • Best Memorial: A trophy, Cash prize, and a Certificate
  • Best Speaker: A trophy, Cash prize, and a Certificate
  • Certificates will be provided to the Team with the Second-Best Memorial, Second-Best Speaker.
  • Participation Certificates will be provided for all the participants. 16.7. Merit certificates for the quarter-finalist and semi-finalist shall not be issued.

Important Dates

The 5 VITSOL National Moot Court Competition on IP and Competition Law shall be held on 22.08.2024 & 08.09.2024. The preliminary round will be conducted in Online mode on 22.08.2024 and the Quater Final, Semi Final and Final rounds will be conducted in Offline mode on 08.09.2024.

  • Teams from each Participating Institution are requested to fill out the Registration Form in order to confirm their participation. (The registration fee is non-refundable under any circumstances)
  • The registration fees of Rs. 4,500/- shall be paid through the following link: https://vitchennaievents.com
  • Teams will be registered upon receipt of an online payment of Rs. 4500/-
  • Teams that are registered according to the aforesaid Rule will be provided with a Team Code, which will be intimated to the official E-mail ID.
  • Registration will close on the 05.08.2024. No further extension will be provided.
  • The details provided in the registration form shall be final for the purposes of certificates and awards.
  • Teams shall not be allowed to change the speakers and/or the researcher after registration
  • The teams shall not swap the speakers inside the Court Hall; it must be as per the registration.
  • Multiple teams from the same institution are permitted to register.
