As a tribute to and in memory of the legendary Dr. M. S. Ramaiah who breathed education in his entire lifetime, his son Dr. M. R. Pattabhiram established the M.S. Ramaiah Institute of Legal Studies (RILS) focuses on value based holistic education and is affiliated to Karnataka State Law University, Recognised by Government of Karnataka and approved by Bar Council of India, New Delhi. The Institute offers 5 year B.A. L.L.B., and B.B.A. L.L.B., courses and is committed to mould the students into competent Global Legal Professionals who will have the caliber to face the global competition and emerge as leaders. About the Opportunity
The Moot Court Committee of Ramaiah Institute of Legal Studies (RILS), Bengaluru, is inviting participants for the 5th RILS Inter-University Moot Court Competition 2026 to be held from December 11–13 2026 at the RILS campus in Bengaluru.

Eligibility
The competition is open to bona fide students pursuing either the five-year or the three-year LL.B. programme at an institution recognised by the Bar Council of India. Only one team can represent an institution.
Theme
The moot problem is set against the backdrop of the fictional Republic of Navira and revolves around a Supreme Court case concerning a patient’s lifelong dependence on medical treatment, juxtaposed against the State’s assertion of administrative discretion and fiscal prudence. The problem invites participants to engage with pressing questions of constitutional obligation, public health policy, and judicial ethics.
Registration Fee
The registration fee is Rs. 3500- per team. The registration fee does not include accommodation. Accommodation shall be provided at an additional cost of Rs. 3500/- for the period from 11th to 13th December 2026.

Interested teams shall complete registration by filling out the Registration Form
Only one form shall be submitted per team.
- Participants have to upload the registration form/approval letter/ Bonafide letter attached in the Rule book as annexure III while filling the registration form.
- Teams shall register on or before 23rd October 2026 on or before 11:59 PM (IST). Forms received after the deadline shall not be considered.
- The Competition is open to a maximum of 24 Teams, which will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis based on the completion of their registration and fee payment.
- The Organisers shall acknowledge receipt of each form by email within 48 hours of submission.
- Once the composition of a Team has been communicated to the organising committee no change shall be permitted except with the express permission of the organising committee in case of any extenuating circumstances. Such extenuating circumstances shall be communicated by the respective institution or by the institutional administration.
- After making the payment, the team shall take a screenshot of the payment confirmation page and upload it in the Registration Form.
- Registration shall be complete only when the Registration Form has been duly filled out and submitted along with the payment screenshot.
