About Symposium 

World Intellectual Property Day is celebrated annually on 26 April. The theme of World Intellectual Property Day 2023 is “Women and IP: Accelerating Innovation and Creativity” 

The symposium is more focused on hands-on training, aimed towards engaging students, academicians, industry professionals and practitioners in a discussion on the patents drafting, filing and protection regime. The purpose of conducting the event is primarily to introduce participants to the basics of patent search, drafting and the filing and enforcement procedure at national and international levels. 

Object 

The symposium aims to provide an introduction to IPR, the importance of patents, and types of patents. It will also aim at providing insights into Patentability as well as the filing and prosecution of patents which includes the process of application of patents, drafting of patent applications, claims and prosecution process for Indian and PCT applications.

The symposium is open to academicians, entrepreneurs, researchers, students, industry professionals, IP practitioners, IP lawyers, MSME and Startup owners, inventors, and anyone interested in the subject.
