Amity University Madhya Pradesh (AUMP) was established by Ritnand Balved Education Foundation (RBEF) at Gwalior by Madhya Pradesh Niji Vishwavidyalaya (Sthapna Avam Sanchalan) Adhiniyam – 2007 and Dwitiya Sanshodhan Adhiniyam (No. 27 of 2010) vide State Government Notification No. 7692-406 dated 30 Dec 2010, with the view to promote professional, industry-oriented education in the state of Madhya Pradesh.

About the Opportunity

This is the invitation from the Mediation Committee, Amity Law School, Amity University Madhya Pradesh for the National Mediation Competition 2024 4th Edition, which will be held on 11th- 12th of September 2024

Eligibility

All bonafide students either from undergraduate or postgraduate courses from 3 years or 5 years law programs.
Further details for the teams: Each participating team shall comprise 3 members of which one (1) member shall be designated as Mediator, one (1) member as Client, and one (1) as counsel.

Mode of the Competition

The Competition will be conducted in virtual mode.

Round Details

• Qualifying Round: All participating teams will be competing, The Qualifying Round will be of 60 minutes inclusive of the entire mediation process and the private caucus. A maximum of 10 minutes can be taken for the private caucus, this 10 minute is inclusive of conducting caucuses for both teams.
• Quarter Finals Round: 8 teams will be competing in this. Teams selected from the qualifying round will advance to Quarter Finals which will last for 60 minutes. This time is inclusive of the entire mediation process and the private caucus. A maximum of 10 minutes can be taken for the private caucus, these 10 minutes are inclusive of conducting caucuses for both the teams.
• Semi-Finals Round: 4 teams will be competing, and four teams qualifying for Semi-Finals will be selected on a “Knock- Out‟ basis from the quarter-finals rounds. The Time limit of the Semi-Finals will be 70 minutes. This time is inclusive of the entire mediation process and the private caucus. A maximum of 10 minutes can be taken for the private caucus, these 10 minutes are inclusive of conducting caucuses for both the teams.
• Final Round: 2 teams will be competing. These two teams selected for the final on a “Knock- Out” basis from the Semi-final rounds will compete in the Final for a total time period of 90 Minutes. This time is inclusive of the entire mediation process and the private caucus. Maximum of 15 minutes can be taken for the private caucus, these 15 minutes are inclusive of conducting caucuses for both the teams.
• The official language of the Mediation Competition is English. Communication in any other international, national or regional language during the Mediation Competition shall not be permitted.
• The dress code for the Competition is business formal. Gowns and bands are not permitted to be worn by the participants in the Competition. Non-adherence to the dress code shall attract a penalty to the teams.
• About Proposition: The competition’s mediation problem will be around Commercial matters.
