About The Moot Court Committee at IFIM Law School, Bengaluru

The Moot Court Committee (MCC) at IFIM Law School, Bengaluru, stands as a hallmark of our commitment to cultivating advocacy excellence. We believe that mooting is not merely a competitive exercise—it is a transformative journey that bridges classroom theory with the compelling demands of real-world legal practice.

Through workshops, internal ranking moots, and national competitions, we equip our students with essential skills in research, drafting, oration, and courtroom demeanour. Each edition has witnessed renowned judges from the judiciary, top law firms, and academia, bringing depth and credibility to our rounds.

About 4th IFIM NMCC, 2025

The 4th IFIM National Moot Court Competition, 2025 promises an intellectually stimulating and socially relevant mooting experience. The Competition will be held offline from 21st to 24th August, 2025 at the IFIM Law School campus, Bengaluru.

Theme of the 4th Edition

The moot proposition is rooted in the intersection of human rights and the issue of deepfakes, particularly focusing on:

  • AI-generated deepfake videos,
  • Non-consensual image-based sexual abuse,
  • Electoral misinformation,
  • Regulatory responses and constitutional implications.

The issues are set before the fictional Supreme Court of Indica in the form of a Public Interest Litigation (PIL).

Eligibility Criteria

  • Open to students pursuing 3-year or 5-year LL.B. courses from institutions recognised by the Bar Council of India.
  • Each institution may send a maximum of two teams.
  • Each team must comprise 2 to 3 members.

Registration Fee

  • Early Bird Registration (till 25th June 2025): ₹4,500 + ₹1,500 (optional accommodation)
  • Final Registration (till 28th July 2025): ₹6,000 + ₹1,500 (optional accommodation)
  • Please refer to Pg. No. 17 of the Rulebook for the Bank Details.
  • Additionally, please note that the payment for Registration and Accommodation needs to be paid together.

Prizes

  • Winning Team – ₹60,000 + Other Incentives
  • Runner-Up Team – ₹40,000 + Other Incentives
  • Best Speaker (Male) – ₹10,000 + Other Incentives
  • Best Speaker (Female) – ₹10,000 + Other Incentives
  • Best Researcher – ₹10,000 + Other Incentives
  • Best Memorial (Petitioner) – ₹10,000 + Other Incentives
  • Best Memorial (Respondent) – ₹10,000 + Other Incentives
  • Certificates of Participation to all participants.

Please note that other incentives, such as certificates, Trophies, and internships, will be released on the IFIM MCC Social Media Platforms shortly for the reference of participants.

  • Release of Moot Proposition: 12th June 2025
  • Early Bird Registration Deadline: 25th June 2025

  • Clarification Release: 1st August 2025
  • Memorial Submission (Soft Copy): 14th August 2025
  • Oral Rounds & Inaugural: 21st to 24th August 2025
