About the Event

The NUALS Moot (TNM) is a national moot court competition organised by the NUALS Moot Court Society, focusing on contemporary and doctrinally significant legal issues. The 2025 edition centered on international taxation and corporate legal structures in cross-border share acquisitions, providing participants with an opportunity to engage with complex issues of global commerce, taxation, and corporate governance.

The competition followed a hybrid format, with the preliminary rounds and quarter-finals conducted online, followed by the semi-finals and grand finale at the NUALS campus. The event featured experienced legal practitioners, academics, and judges as adjudicators, offering participants exposure to high-level legal argumentation and advocacy.

Event Format

  • Preliminary Rounds: All registered teams shall participate the Online preliminary rounds.
  • Advanced Rounds: Top eight teams compete in online Quarter Finals. The four winning teams shall advance to the Semi-Finals.
  • Semi-Final, Final Rounds & Valedictory: Offline round at NUALS campus, Kochi.

Eligibility

  • Open to students who are enrolled in a full-time 3 or 5-year law course.
  • International teams may participate with permission of the Moot Court Society.
  • Team composition: 2-5 members.
  • Maximum 32 teams accepted (first-come, first-served).
  • Maximum two teams per institution.

  • Winner: ₹50,000
  • Runners-Up: ₹25,000
  • Best Memorial: ₹15,000
  • Best Speaker (Prelims): ₹5,000

Registration Process

Team Registration is final only after payment of the registration fees and after entering the requisite team details. The slots are filled on a first-come, first-served basis.
