About The Journal

The Centre for Corporate Governance is a research hub under the rubrics of National Law University, Jodhpur, dedicated to research and development of governance standards for the corporate world. To promote holistic research on areas covered within the broad ambit of corporate law, the Centre came out with a bi-annual publication in 2008, known as Journal on Governance (also known as ‘Journal on Corporate Law and Governance).

The Journal on Corporate Law & Governance [“JCLG”] is evidence of invincible research, thought-provoking ideas and significant academic and intellectual standards. It offers a forum for critical research on the interplay of contemporary corporate law issues, both from an academic and industry perspective.

The Journal is peer-reviewed with ISSN serial publication No. 0976-0369 and indexed on prestigious legal databases SCC Online, Manupatra and HeinOnline. Along with exploring the various problems and challenges that affect the corporate world, the Journal attempts to examine and offer workable solutions, which may help regulatory and policy decisions.

The previous issues of the Journal boast of scholarly discourses from eminent legal practitioners, academicians, research scholars and students. The journal also publishes the winning essay of the prestigious Pranita Mehta Memorial Essay Writing Competition conducted by the Corporate Law Society, NLUJ.

The competition aims to create profound discussions and discourse around contemporary issues within the corporate law realm. 

About The 3rd NLUJ – Trilegal Corporate Law Review Summit,2025

The Journal on Corporate Law and Governance (JCLG), National Law University, Jodhpur is pleased to release the Call for Papers for the 3rd NLUJ – Trilegal Corporate Law Review Summit, scheduled to be held on 8th – 9th November 2025, in offline mode at the NLU Jodhpur campus, in collaboration with Trilegal.

The Summit is a flagship academic initiative that brings together legal professionals, scholars, and students from across India to deliberate on contemporary and cutting-edge developments in corporate and commercial laws. The event features:

  • Panel Discussions with leading experts and practitioners, and
  • Paper Presentations by selected authors on pressing legal themes.

Each edition builds on the legacy of critical scholarship and impactful dialogue, aiming to foster innovation and thought leadership in corporate legal policy and governance.

Themes

Participants are encouraged to submit original, high-quality research on topics of current relevance under the broad umbrella of corporate and commercial laws. Suggested areas include (but are not limited to):

Theme –Evolving Paradigms in Corporate Governance: Navigating AI, ESG, and Board Accountability in the Digital Era

Some indicative sub-themes include:

  • Navigating AI, ESG, and Board Accountability in the Digital Era
  • SEBI and the Regulation of Tokenised Securities
  • The Legal Risks of Generative AI in Management
  • From CSR to ESG: The Climate Crisis and Indian Corporate Law
  • Reinforcing Board Accountability under Stakeholder Capitalism
  • Governance after Disinvestment
  • Whistleblower Protection and Audit Committees

(The list of sub-themes is suggestive and non-exhaustive. Authors may write on any other contemporary and relevant issue.)

Categories Of Submission

  • Long Articles: 4000–7000 words
  • Short Articles: 2000–4000 words
  • Legislative Comments: 2000–4000 words
  • Case Comments: 2000–4000 words

(Word limits are exclusive of abstract and footnotes.)

Submission Guidelines

  • Submissions must be original and unpublished. A similarity index up to 10% is allowed.
  • Each manuscript must be accompanied by:
    • An abstract (250–300 words)
    • An originality statement
    • A copyright statement

Formatting Requirements:

  • Font: Garamond; Size: 12; Line spacing: 1.15
  • Citations: Footnotes in Garamond, Size 10, using Bluebook 20th Edition
  • Titles and subtitles: Garamond, Size 12, Bold, Small Caps, Centre-Aligned

Co-authorship is permitted up to a maximum of two authors.

Eligibility & Mode Of Submission

Students and recent graduates from any recognised law university in India are eligible to participate.

Registration Fee

There is no submission fee initially. After the shortlisting process, selected authors must pay:

  • INR 2500 for single-author entries
  • INR 4500 for co-authored entries

(This includes accommodation and meals at NLU Jodhpur during the Summit.)

Awards

  • Winner: INR 35,000 + Internship at Trilegal + Certificate of Merit
  • First Runner-up: INR 25,000 + Internship at Trilegal + Certificate of Merit
  • Second Runner-up: INR 15,000 + Certificate of Merit
  • Top 6 entries: Publication in JCLG, Volume VII, Issue 2
  • Top 15 entries: Certificate of Merit
  • All participants: Certificate of Participation
