Erode College of Law is a private legal institution located on the Erode-Perundurai Road in Tamil Nadu. Established by the Sri Sai Sindu Foundation, it is the first law college in the Erode district. It is approved by the Bar Council of India (BCI) and affiliated with The Tamil Nadu Dr. Ambedkar Law University in Chennai.

  • Event Details: The Second Edition of the National Drafting Championship (2026), hosted fully in online mode.
  • Nature of Task: Participants are required to draft a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) memorial to be filed before the Supreme Court of India.
  • Document Limits & Format: Drafts must be written in English, strictly limited to 10–12 pages, formatted in Times New Roman, and follow the Indian Law Institute (ILI) citation style.

  • Core Areas of Focus: Legal Framework & Contemporary Debate, Health & Well-being, Religious and Cultural Perspectives, and Social Justice & Development.

Eligibility

  • Academic Requirement: Open to all law students currently enrolled in 3-year or 5-year LLB or LLM programs from BCI recognized institutions/universities.
  • Team Composition: Participants may register individually (Single Author) or in teams of two (Co-Authors). Only one submission per team is permitted.

Registration & Submission Process

  1. Fee Payment: Transfer the exact fee structure amount to the official ICICI bank account and take a secure digital screenshot of your payment receipt.
  2. Form Submission: Access the official Google Form link provided in the brochure, fill in team details, and attach the payment proof screenshot. A unique team code will then be assigned via email.
  3. Draft Compilation: Draft the PIL in English ensuring full anonymity (no personal details). A Turnitin plagiarism report must be appended as the first page of the file (margins up to 20% plagiarism and 10% AI are permitted).
  4. Final Delivery: Submit the final document in two formats (Microsoft Word .docx and Adobe PDF .pdf) via email to [email protected] with the subject line format: PIL Memorial of Team Code- [team code].
