The School of Legal Studies at CGC University, Mohali, is committed to cultivating the next generation of legal professionals through a balanced blend of rigorous academics and comprehensive practical training. Offering B.A. LL.B (Hons.), B.A. LL.B., B.Com LL.B., BBA LL.B., a three-year LL.B. program, LLM Program, and Ph.D. Program. SLS provides multiple pathways for students aspiring to build impactful careers in law.

The faculty comprises experienced legal scholars and practitioners dedicated to guiding students through both foundational legal theory and real-world application. About 2nd Nation-Wide CGCU Youth Parliament – Democra Talk

The 2nd Nation-wide CGCU Youth Parliament – After a successful conclusion of first edition of the event, Democra Talk brings second flagship edition of national-level parliamentary simulation organized by the School of Legal Studies, CGC University, Mohali. The event seeks to provide students with a realistic understanding of India’s parliamentary democracy through simulated legislative proceedings, policy debates, and media engagement.

Aligned with the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047 and the objectives of NEP 2020, Democra Talk nurtures constitutional values, democratic participation, leadership, public speaking, negotiation, policy analysis, and informed decision-making among youth. The competition welcomes participation from School, Undergraduate, and Postgraduate students across India, creating a vibrant platform for dialogue on issues of national importance.

  • Promote democratic and constitutional awareness.
  • Develop leadership and communication skills.
  • Encourage youth participation in governance.
  • Inspire contributions towards Viksit Bharat 2047.

Structure Of Nation Wide Youth Parliament-Democra Talk

The event shall consist of three parallel forums.

All India Political Parties Meet (AIPPM)

The All India Political Parties Meet (AIPPM) will function as a dynamic forum for political dialogue, consensus-building, and policy deliberation. Delegates will represent various national and regional political parties, engaging in discussions, negotiations, and strategic decision-making while upholding democratic principles and parliamentary decorum.

Women Representation in Politics and Governance: Pathways Towards Inclusive Leadership and Viksit Bharat 2047

Session Details

  • Number of Sessions: Two
  • Duration: 1.5 hours per session
  • Total Duration: 3 hours

Each session will focus on policy debates, inter-party discussions, and coalition-building. Delegates will present party perspectives, negotiate with other political parties, and collaboratively develop practical recommendations to strengthen women’s participation in politics and governance. The committee aims to enhance leadership, diplomacy, policy analysis, negotiation, and public speaking skills while providing participants with a realistic understanding of India’s political decision-making process.

Lok Sabha

The Lok Sabha will serve as the principal legislative forum of Democra Talk, providing delegates with an immersive experience of parliamentary proceedings. Participants will deliberate on contemporary national issues by simulating the functioning of the Lower House of Parliament while adhering to established parliamentary procedures, decorum, and democratic values.

Press Committee

The Press Committee will function as the official media wing of Democra Talk.
