About the Competition
The School of Law, SVKM’s NMIMS, Indore proudly announces its 1st National Blog Writing Competition 2026, providing a platform for students to engage with contemporary legal and socio-legal issues surrounding narcotics regulation in India.
Under the theme “Ink Against Narcotics: Perspectives on India’s Drug Laws,” the competition seeks critical and research-oriented perspectives on the statutory framework governing narcotics, judicial developments, enforcement mechanisms, rehabilitation policies, and the broader socio-economic dimensions of addiction.
Participants are encouraged to move beyond purely punitive approaches and critically examine the balance between state security, individual rights, rehabilitation, decriminalization, and harm-reduction approaches.

“Ink Against Narcotics: Perspectives on India’s Drug Laws”
Sub-Themes
Participants may explore the following areas:
- Statutory Reforms and the Evolution of the NDPS Act
- Bail Jurisprudence and Constitutional Liberties
- Rehabilitation Frameworks vs. Punitive Measures
- Digital Trafficking & Transnational Narcotics Syndicates
- Procedural Safeguards and Law Enforcement Accountability
- Decriminalization and Global Drug Policy Comparisons
- Socio-Economic Impacts of the Narcotics Crisis
Eligibility
- The competition is open to all students pursuing undergraduate or postgraduate studies from a recognised Law College/University.
- Individual participation is permitted.
- Entries may also be submitted by a team of not more than two members.

Last Date for Registration and Submission: 20 October 2026
Results: 1st Week of November 2026

Registration Fee

The co-author registration fee is the total fee for both authors combined and is not charged per author.
Submission Guidelines
Participants must submit their manuscript in accordance with the following requirements:
- File Format: Microsoft Word (.doc/.docx)
- Font: Times New Roman, 12 pt
- Line Spacing: 1.5
- Alignment: Justified
- Margins: 1 inch on all sides
- Citation: Hyperlinks are mandatory for all citations and sources relied upon.
- Similarity: Similarity index must not exceed 10%.
- Blind Review: The manuscript must not contain the author’s name, institutional affiliation, contact details, or any other identifying information.
- Intellectual Property: Participants must ensure that their submission does not infringe any copyright, intellectual property rights, or third-party rights.
