About Col. Dr. Jeppiaar’s First International Moot Court Competition on War Crimes

Sathyabama School of Law is organizing the first-ever Col. Dr. Jeppiaar International Moot Court Competition on War Crimes aiming to engage students from around the globe in discussions and simulations related to war crimes, international law, and humanitarian issues. The competition aims to address contemporary issues, allowing participants to grapple with real-world challenges and explore the complexities of applying legal principles to such situations. The event serves as a platform for international participation fostering cultural exchange and allowing students to interact with peers from diverse backgrounds, creating mutual understanding and global perspectives.

Eligibility

The Competition is open to all students enrolled Bonafide on a regular basis in an Undergraduate law course or its equivalent conducted by any recognized institution. There is no limitation on the number of teams a college can send. However cross-college teams are not eligible for the event; (i.e.) Two students from two different colleges.

Location

The event shall be conducted through a virtual platform.

Important Date

  • Last Date for provisional registration: February 18th, 2024
  • Last Date for final registration: February 28th, 2024
  • Last Day for submission of memorials: March 10th, 2024
  • Inaugural Ceremony, Draw of Lots, Exchange of Memorials, and Researcher’s Test: March 21st, 2024
  • Preliminary and Quarter Final Rounds: March 22nd, 2024
  • Semi-Final, Final Rounds, and Valedictory Ceremony: March 23rd, 2024

Interested teams are to provisionally register through the link, upon which organizers would send a confirmation mail. Registration Fee of ₹2,000 or 24.15$ USD is to be paid by the teams after receiving the confirmation mail and the bank details. Teams would be finalizing their registration by filling the final registration form.
