About the Moot Court Competition

The 1st Bennett International Moot Court Competition 2024 is an esteemed event organized by the Moot Court Committee, School of Law, Bennett University, scheduled from April 05th- 07th 2024 and it welcomes teams from across the globe. The competition aims to foster a deeper understanding of international law, challenging participants to engage in rigorous legal analysis and argumentation.

Eligibility

• Only regular students enrolled in a five-year integrated undergraduate law program or three-year graduate law program are eligible to register for the competition.
• Each team shall consist of two speakers and one researcher

Theme

The theme for this competition is “International Criminal Law,” a multifaceted area that plays a pivotal role in maintaining peace, resolving conflicts, and upholding justice in the international arena. The 1st Bennett International Moot Court Competition, 2024 promises to be a trailblazing event that fosters intellectual growth, cross-cultural understanding, and a profound appreciation
for the significance of international law.

Prizes

Prizes will be awarded in the following categories) Trophy, cash prize, merit certificate, and other prizes for the ‘Winning team’ and ‘RunnerUp team’.

• The Winning Team will get a total prize of INR 75,000/- or 900 USD along with a Trophy, and merit certificate.
• The Runner-up Team will get a total prize of INR 40,000/- or 480 USD along with a Trophy, and merit certificate.
• Award/Memento, certificate, and cash prize for the ‘Best Memorial’
• Best Prosecution: INR 5000 /- or 60 USD
• Best Defence: INR 5000 /- or 60 USD
• Award/Memento, certificate, and cash prize for the ‘Best Speaker’.
• Male: INR 5000 /- or 60 USD
• Female: INR 5000 /- 60 USD
• Award/Memento, certificate, and cash prize for the ‘Best Researcher’.
• Male: INR 5000 /- or 60 USD
• Female: INR 5000 /- or 60 USD
• ‘Quarterfinalists’ shall be awarded merit certificates.
• ‘Semi-Finalists’ shall be awarded with merit certificates and mementos.
• All participants will get certificates of participation in the valedictory ceremony.

• Last Date of Seeking Clarifications 20th February 2024
• Last Date of Memorial Submission 29th February 2024
• Draw of Lots, Researchers Test, and Inaugural Ceremony 05th April 2024
• Preliminary Rounds, Quarter-Final Rounds 06th April 2024
• Semi-Finals Rounds, Final Round & Valedictory Ceremony 07th April 2024

Registration Fees

• The registration fee for the competition for Indian Teams is 7500/-INR and Foreign National Team is 100 USD and the SAARC Region is 50 USD per team (including accommodation on a sharing basis).
• Accommodation and Food will be available at the university for three days i.e., 05th -07th April 2024. Any further extension beyond these dates will be chargeable.

Registration Procedure

Teams shall register for the competition on or before 23:59 Hours IST on 31st January 2024, by sending an email with the subject ‘Registration for the 1st Bennett International Moot Court Competition 2024 to [email protected] after completing the online registration form.

A scanned copy of the fide certificate of the Head of the Institution/Principal/Head of the Department/Dean certifying that the team consisting of the three members is a bona fide student of the respective institution is to be uploaded through the online registration form.
