Saveetha School of Law, a constituent of SIMATS, aims to provide quality legal education integrating theoretical learning with practical training. Offering undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, it equips students with strong legal knowledge, analytical ability, and advocacy skills, preparing them to excel as professionals who uphold justice and contribute meaningfully to society.

About the Event

Jus Consilium II is the flagship Client Counselling Competition of Saveetha School of Law, held on 26 and 27 September 2025. This national-level event tests participants’ skills in client interaction, legal analysis, and ethical decision-making through realistic scenarios. Unlike moot courts, Jus Consilium focuses on the lawyer-client relationship, helping students develop practical advisory and interpersonal skills essential for legal practice. Supported by Manupatra, India’s leading legal research platform, the competition bridges classroom learning with real-world lawyering.

Mode of Competition

Offline.

Eligibility

The Competition is open to students enrolled in a recognised 3-year or 5-year law programme in India. Each institution may register up to four teams. Each team shall comprise two students. The event is restricted to the first 24 teams that complete registration.

Registration

Registration is two-tiered with a fee of ₹3000 per team, commencing on 25th July 2025. Upon submission, teams will receive provisional registration acknowledgement. Only the first 24 teams will receive payment gateway links to complete final registration. Fees are non-refundable, and failure to pay within five days of intimation will result in forfeiture of eligibility.

Important Dates

  • 25 July 2025: Commencement of provisional registration
  • 01 September 2025: Last date for provisional registration
  • 10 September 2025: Last date to pay registration fee and complete final registration
  • 15 September 2025: Release of team codes
  • 25 September 2025: Draw of lots for preliminary round
  • 26 September 2025: Day 1 – Preliminary round and quarter finals
  • 27 September 2025: Day 2 – Semi-finals, grand finale, and valedictory

Awards and Certificates

  • Winner: Trophy, certificate, and ₹15,000 cash prize
  • Runner-up: Trophy, certificate, and ₹10,000 cash prize
  • Best Counsel: Trophy, certificate, and books

Additionally:

  1. One free Manupatra Academy course of choice for the winning team
  2. 75% discount on any one Manupatra Academy course for the runner-up team
  3. 50% discount on any one Manupatra Academy course for the team placed third
  4. All other participants can avail a 15% discount on any one course from Manupatra Academy
