Traffic rules can be confusing sometimes, but they are in place to keep you and other road users safe. Sometimes, we may break traffic rules without even knowing it. Road rage

It’s okay to be upset when someone drives slowly or recklessly. But driving aggressively in turn to annoy them back is not advisable. Using the horn indiscriminately 

In some places, you’re only allowed to use your horn when needed. Honking at a pedestrian or another car to get their attention can get you a ticket and also a fine. So think twice when you want to express your displeasure at the annoying driver on your left side. 

Using your phone 

Our phones these days come with excellent GPS services to help you find any place with precision. Still, you’re not allowed to use your phone while driving. This is why many cars come with inbuilt navigation systems. If you must use it, the phone needs to be placed in a safe location so you can focus completely on the road.

You’re not allowed to charge people for a ride in your car if it is not a registered taxi. Each state has its own process, and many require specific licenses and insurance. You don’t want to be in a tough position if the passenger gets injured because you may have a lawsuit on your hands. 

Does this mean you can’t give people a ride? Far from it. You just can’t charge them for the ride.

Eating and drinking on the wheel 

While it is not a crime to eat and drink on the wheel in the United States, it is still quite risky. Just like using your phone, you need both hands to drive properly. If you have to use one hand or both to eat, you could get into trouble for distracted driving.

It is safer to avoid this by waiting to get home or parking in a safe area where you can enjoy your meal.
