Centre for Human Rights and Duties, Panjab University in association with Indian Council of Social Science Research is going to Organise National Seminar on WOMEN’S MENTAL HEALTH IN NORTH -WESTERN REGION OF INDIA: TRAUMA AND HEALING on 11th March’2025 . This Centre has been designed to familiarize and sensitize more and more people in society towards issues relating to Human Rights and Duties and involve them in the Human Rights movement and not merely to impart formal instruction, conduct examinations and award certificates to the candidates. It is with this intent that the Centre has been established. Objectives of the Centre.
ICSSR) is an autonomous organisation that was established by the Government of India in the year 1969. The main objectives of ICSSR are to promote, review encourage, assist and coordinate social science research. As a part of its Programme six Regional Centers (including North Western Regional Centre at Chandigarh) were set up across the country to act as a representative of the ICSSR, New Delhi to provide information and implement the programmes and activities of the Council in the Region.The North Western Regional Centre of the ICSSR was set up on the campus of the Panjab University in 1977, on the initiative of Professor J.P. Naik, Member Secretary, ICSSR New Delhi and Professor R.C. Paul, Vice Chancellor, Panjab University.

The Objective of the Seminar
- Ensuring that mental health care is available to all women and accessible to all, especially to those who are most vulnerable and underprivileged.
- Encouraging community participation in the development of mental health services for women, and stimulating efforts towards self-help.
- Training managers and workers to protect and support the mental health of women around them.
- Ensuring adequate funding and resource allocation to strengthen mental health services for women autonomy, and participation, are considered in the design, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of mental health policies
- Enhancing positive mental health and well-being throughout the lifespan and in a range of settings, including the home, school, workplace, and community
Submission and Formatting Guidelines
- The abstract should not exceed 300 words and must be accompanied by a cover page stating:

- Only selected abstracts will be permitted for presentation.
- The paper must be in English language.
- Co-authorship is restricted to a maximum of two authors.
