The Royal School of Law & Administration (RSLA) is RGU’s dedicated school for legal studies and public administration, committed to cultivating skilled legal professionals and responsible leaders. It offers a variety of programs tailored to different levels of study, including a 5-year integrated BA/BBA LLB (Hons), a 3-year LLB (Hons), and a 1-year LLM in both day-shift and morning-shift formats.

The Royal Moot Court Society (RMCS) at Assam Royal Global University is a student-driven academic initiative dedicated to nurturing advocacy excellence, research aptitude, and ethical legal practice. Rooted in the University’s vision of academic rigor, global competence, and holistic development, RMCS serves as a dynamic platform where aspiring legal professionals transform into confident advocates, leaders, and changemakers.

Samvidhan Smaran 2025: Inter-University Essay Writing Competition aims to honour India’s rich constitutional heritage while fostering academic inquiry among students across universities through an online platform. The competition seeks to commemorate Constitution Day by encouraging young scholars to engage deeply with constitutional values, principles, and contemporary challenges. Through this initiative, students are inspired to critically reflect on India’s evolving socio-legal landscape and contribute thoughtful perspectives on issues of national importance.

The event also aspires to strengthen research and analytical skills among university students by promoting rigorous academic writing and informed discourse. By offering a platform for inter-university engagement, Samvidhan Smaran 2025 nurtures a culture of constitutional awareness, intellectual exchange, and scholarly excellence.

Theme

“Balancing National Security and Privacy Rights under Article 21 in the Digital Era.”

Eligibility

The competition is open to all undergraduate and postgraduate students enrolled in recognized universities and institutions across India.  Each participant may submit only one entry.  Co-authorship is not permitted.

Essays deviating substantially from the central theme may be disqualified.

Submission Guidelines

The essay must be submitted online via the registration Google Form link provided by the organizers between 21st Nov to 25th Nov 2025 [5PM]. The submission should be in Microsoft Word (.doc/.docx) format only. 

File name format: Participant’s Full Name_University Name.

Formatting Requirements

  • Word limit: 2000 to 3000 words (excluding references). Font: Times New Roman, 
    • Size: 12 pt
    • Line spacing: 1.5. 
    • Margins: 1 inch on all sides. 
    • Citations must follow the Bluebook 21st Edition or OSCOLA 4th Edition citation style
    • Times New Roman
    • Size: 10 pt 
    • Line spacing: 1.0. 
  • Originality
    • Submissions must be original, unpublished works of the participant. 
    • Any form of plagiarism, including paraphrasing without attribution, will result in rejection.
    • Plagiarism exceeding 10% will lead to disqualification. The manuscripts should be supported with a plagiarism report. 
  • Evaluation Criteria
    • Relevance to the Theme (20%) 
    • Clarity of Argument and Coherence (25%)
    • Depth of Research and Analysis (25%) 
    • Originality and Creativity (15%) 
    • Language, Grammar, and Presentation (15%)
  • Judging and Results: Essays will be evaluated anonymously by a panel of distinguished academicians and legal experts. The decision of the judges shall be final and binding. 

Results will be declared on 26th November 2025 on the occasion of the celebration of Constitution Day 2025.

  • Prizes and Recognition
    • Top 3 Winners: Cash Prize and Certificates of Merit. 
    • Top 5 Entries: Certificates of Appreciation from the Royal Moot Court Society.
  • General Instructions
    • Late submissions will not be accepted. 
    • Participants shall abide by all rules and directions issued by the organizing committee.

The organizers reserve the right to publish winning essays with due credit to the authors.
