Gujarat National Law University – Silvassa Campus (GNLU-S) was established by a resolution of the Governing Bodies of Gujarat National Law University which has been empowered under the Gujarat National Law University Act, 2003 as amended by the Gujarat National Law University (Amendment) Act, 2022. About Gender Sensitisation Committee

The Gender Sensitisation Committee (GSC) aims to create a safe, equitable and respectful environment for all by acknowledging the need to address societal and institutional biases that affect gender roles and relations. In this regard, the importance of educational institutions in creating awareness, breaking stereotypes and upholding the principle of equality cannot be underscored enough. Thus, the GSC’s main objective is to create a platform that initiates open dialogue and challenges gender myths. By nurturing mutual understanding and cooperation, GSC envisions creating an environment that fosters academic and personal growth without barriers. Let’s stand against discrimination, and let’s stand for dignity, equality, and inclusiveness for all.

About the Competition

Unleash your creativity and be part of a revolution. This competition aims to raise awareness and challenge traditional gender roles and stereotypes through the power of storytelling. By creating impactful short reels, participants are expected to explore the concept of gender equality, and equity, and challenge gender stereotypes through the lens of creative expression. The Reel Making Competition is designed to inspire conversations on gender equality and inclusivity. 

Theme

Since gender-related stigma and stereotypes are all-pervasive in our society, we would like the participants to bring out and address the same in creative ways. Participants can take cues from the given themes and ideas for their reels.

Rules and Regulations

  • Eligibility: Open to college students pursuing undergraduate/ postgraduate course from any recognised Law University/College within the territory of India. 
  • Students can also enter the competition in teams of two members.
  • Reels should not exceed 60 seconds. Reels crossing the given time limit will be disqualified.
  • Reels should be in MP4 format and submitted through the designated submission platform.
  • The submission link will be shared later with all the registered participants after 31st December 2024.
  •  Reels can be in English or Hindi, with subtitles if necessary.
  • Content must be original. Plagiarism or reuse of copyrighted material will result in disqualification.
  • Reels must not contain indecent content or promote controversial or offensive views. Avoid any material that could be deemed disrespectful or inappropriate or hurting the sentiments of any community or group.
  • Judgment of the submitted reels will focus on alignment with the chosen theme and the content reflecting the topic adequately and effectively. Creativity and innovation are essential, emphasizing originality and thought-provoking ideas. Additionally, technical quality, including video editing, clarity and overall  presentation will play a crucial role in the evaluation
