Nyaaya Launches Colouring Books on Legal Rights of Children in Kannada and Hindi in November 2025

What if children could learn about their essential legal rights through a fun activity that sparks their curiosity, creativity and self-expression?

This question inspired Nyaaya’s newest initiative — a free colouring book (available in Hindi and Kannada) that helps children engage with their rights as easy-to-understand illustrations, rather than complex legal concepts, allowing them to learn as they colour.

Nyaaya has launched two versions of its colouring book in Kannada and Hindi in November 2025.

Launch of Kannada Colouring Book on Children’s Day

To commemorate Children’s Day this year, Nyaaya, in collaboration with the Karnataka State Legal Services Authority (KSLSA), released the Kannada edition of the colouring book at a legal literacy programme in Raichur. The book was launched by Hon’ble Mr. Justice Vibhu Bakhru, the Chief Justice, High Court of Karnataka, in the presence of Hon’ble Ms. Justice Anu Sivaraman, Judge, High Court of Karnataka & Executive Chairperson, KSLSA (Keynote Address), Hon’ble Mr. Justice M.G. Shukure Kamal, Judge, High Court of Karnataka & Administrative Judge for Raichur District, Shri Shashidhara Shetty, Member Secretary, KSLSA (Presiding)

The Kannada version will be disseminated widely through Nyaaya’s networks across districts, schools, and community programmes.

Launch of Hindi Colouring Book on Constitution Day

In Bihar, the Hindi edition of the colouring book was released on Constitution Day, at an event marking the launch of the Bihar Samvidhaan Fellowship 2025–26 held at Chanakya National Law University (CNLU), Patna.

The event, attended by over 150 participants, including community based organisations, legal experts, and the new cohort of Samvidhaan Fellows. The book was launched by Hon’ble Justice Sudhir Singh, Chancellor, CNLU and Acting Chief Justice, Patna High Court, celebrating constitutional values, community legal empowerment, and youth-led engagement with rights-based learning.

About the Colouring Book

The colouring book is a free public resource designed to introduce children to their essential rights in a simple, accessible, and engaging way. It covers key themes such as equality, education, safety, nutrition, and protection from exploitation, while also sensitively addressing issues like child labour, child marriage, bullying, and sexual abuse through age-appropriate language and illustrations. By using clear visuals and child-friendly explanations, the book encourages young readers to connect with constitutional values in a manner that feels natural and creative. It is also a practical tool for teachers, parents, social workers, and civil society organisations, supporting them in conducting rights-based learning activities with children across diverse settings.

Across both Karnataka and Bihar, these books aim to build early awareness of rights, empower young learners, and strengthen community-level legal literacy.
