About NLUO ADR Board
The NLUO ADR Board was established with the objective of promoting awareness and encouraging research in the field of ADR. The Board actively conducts training sessions, workshops, and competitions to foster practical engagement with negotiation and mediation among law students. In recognition of its sustained commitment and contribution to ADR education, the Board was conferred the Maadhyam PACT National ADR Board Award 2023.
About The Competition
The NLUO National Negotiation Competition is the flagship event conducted by the ADR Board and brings together students from recognised law universities across the country to engage in structured negotiation rounds. The competition is designed to assess analytical thinking, communication and strategy based decision making, and aims to provide participants with a meaningful opportunity to practise and strengthen their negotiation skills.
In furtherance of this objective, the Competition is supported by meaningful engagement from leading law firms and legal practitioners. We are proud to partner with leading law firms including Nishith Desai Associates, Dentons Link Legal, Phoenix Legal, Fox Mandal & Associates, Stratage Law Partners, Sagus Legal, and Khurana & Khurana. Axis Max Life Insurance joins us as our In House Partner. We are also pleased to collaborate with Mediate Guru, the Indian Institute of Arbitration and Mediation (IIAM), Lawctopus Law School, and the Foundation for Comprehensive Dispute Resolution (FCDR) as our Knowledge Partners. We continue to engage with other firms and stakeholders from the legal profession with the objective of creating a collaborative platform that offers participants a well rounded and professionally enriching experience.
Competition Structure
The competition will commence with a Negotiation Plan Qualifier, wherein participating teams will submit a negotiation plan based on the general information released by the Board. The top twenty four teams will be invited to the university campus at Cuttack for the offline negotiation rounds, comprising preliminary and advanced rounds.
Awards
Participants stand to win internships with our Law Firm Partners and In House Partner, cash prizes from a prize pool exceeding Rs. 40,000, along with additional exciting offers from Manupatra Academy.
Eligibility
Students enrolled in a 3-year or 5-year law degree are eligible to participate. There is no restriction on the number of teams that may register from a single institution. No provisional or institutional registration is required. Further, cross-teams are permitted as well.
Fees
The registration fee for the Negotiation Plan Submission is Rs. 3,000 per team. Teams qualifying for the negotiation rounds will be required to pay an additional amount of Rs. 9,000 per team, which shall cover accommodation and selected meals during the competition days.
