About Centre for Business and Financial Laws at NLU Delhi
The Centre for Business and Financial Laws at NLU Delhi was established to develop intellectual leadership and capabilities in the field of banking, capital markets, and other financial services. It seeks to engage public and private stakeholders for working together on the exchange of ideas, policy recommendations, and allied regulatory issues. It also aims to generate scholarship and work as a think tank for the robustness and soundness of the business sector, including regularly undertaking advanced research and policy work for projects in collaboration with various government and private agencies.
Themes for Submission
The journal would accept and publish articles dealing with the following themes and areas of law, under the broad umbrella of corporate and commercial laws:
- Banking and Finance Law
- Company Law
- Competition Law
- Contract Law
- Employment Law
- Foreign Investment
- Insolvency Law
- Insurance Laws
- Securities Law and Capital Markets
- Taxation Law
Submission Guidelines
The deadline for submissions is 27 April 2025. The editorial board will endeavor to review and process the submissions within six weeks starting from the submission deadline.
Categories of Submissions
- Long Articles (Above 5000 words)
- Essays (3000–5000 words)
- Book Reviews or Case/Legislative Comments (1500–3000 words)
[These word limits are exclusive of footnotes and merely indicative. Speaking footnotes are discouraged. The Editorial Board retains discretion regarding flexibility in word limits.]
Manuscript Guidelines
- Submissions must not be descriptive in nature. The author(s) must ensure that the submission is critically evaluative while contributing to the existing literature/jurisprudence on the subject matter.
- Submissions must be in Microsoft Word format (.doc or .docx).
- Co-authorship is limited to a maximum of two individuals. However, this limit may be relaxed at the discretion of the Editorial Board on a case-by-case basis.
- The manuscript must be in A4 size, with 1-inch margins on all four sides.
- Formatting Guidelines for Main Text
- Font Style: Times New Roman
- Font Size: 12
- Line Spacing: 1.15
- Alignment: Justified
- Internal Headings Format
- First-level headings should be numbered I, II, III, and so on.
- Second-level headings should be numbered A, B, C, and so on.
- Third-level headings should be numbered (i), (ii), (iii), and so on.
Formatting Guidelines for Footnotes
- Font Style: Times New Roman
- Font Size: 10
- Line Spacing: 1.0
- Alignment: Left Aligned
- All references shall be made using footnotes.
- Endnotes and in-text citations are strictly prohibited.
- Submissions must conform to Bluebook 20th Edition.
- It is advisable to use Supreme Court Cases (SCC) or All India Reporter (AIR) citations while referencing case law.

Additional Requirements
- The submission must include an abstract of not more than 300 words.
- Additionally, the authors must provide five keywords capturing the theme of the submission.
- All submissions will be mandatorily checked for AI-generated and plagiarized content. Submissions exceeding the 15% limit (for AI and plagiarism) will be summarily rejected.
- Submissions shall be the original work of the author(s). They should not be previously published or under consideration elsewhere.
- The manuscript must not contain any identifying information, such as the author(s)’ name, institutional affiliation, contact details, or any other personal details.
- The author(s) bear full responsibility for the accuracy of all facts and information presented in the submission.
