NLUD Hosts Global Talks on Aviation & MRO With Aviakul Group of Companies

National Law University Delhi (NLUD), in collaboration with Aviakul Group of Companies inaugurated the two-day conference on Aviation Law and MRO industry. The inaugural ceremony of the 1st International Conference on Aviation Law & 4th International Conference on Emerging Trends in the Aviation MRO Industry was graced by the distinguished presence of Hon’ble Mr. Justice Prashant Kumar Mishra, Judge, Supreme Court of India. He was joined by Prof. (Dr.) G.S. Bajpai, Vice-Chancellor of NLU Delhi, Shri Vaibhav Varun, Managing Director of Aviakul Group of Companies and Prof. (Dr.) Ruhi Paul, Registrar of NLU Delhi.

The inaugural ceremony commenced with a traditional lamp-lighting, symbolizing the illumination of knowledge. In his welcome address, Prof. (Dr.) Bajpai highlighted India’s remarkable aviation journey, discussed the regulatory aspects of aviation and emphasised upon the need for collaboration between legal and industry experts. He highlighted that such conferences which provided a platform such collaboration was the need of the hour. Shri Vaibhav Varun offered insights from an engineering perspective, highlighting the regulatory complexities in aviation design and operations and the need for a balance.

Hon’ble Justice Mishra delivered an inspiring inaugural address that set the tone for the conference. He discussed the growth of aviation law in India and the role that the Judiciary has played in upholding the rule of law within the aviation sector. He celebrated the progress of aviation law in India but also emphasised upon the need to address emerging challenges like environmental sustainability, cybersecurity and dispute resolution. His presence and words added significant weight to the proceedings and underscored the importance of the conference’s mission.

Prof. (Dr.) Ruhi Paul delivered the vote of thanks and also highlighted the significance of aviation law and the University’s commitment for elevating competence in research and policy in this field.  

The inaugural session was followed by panel discussions comprising of expert national and international speakers from the domain of aviation law. The first day of this conference also saw technical sessions on various themes like Leasing, Arbitration, Gender, Sustainability etc. The second day of the conference will witness dedicated panels on the Aviation MRO industry.
