About University of Allahabad

The University of Allahabad, often referred to as the “Oxford of the East,” is one of the oldest and most prestigious universities in India. Recognized as a ‘premier institution’ by the Government of Uttar Pradesh in 1992, the University regained its status of Central University in 2005 and was also declared Institution of National Importance. Located in the city of Prayagraj, it is celebrated for its vibrant academic environment, diverse cultural traditions, and iconic architecture.

About National Moot Court Competition

The Faculty of Law, University of Allahabad is organising its National Moot Court competition on 8th and 9th March 2025.

This year’s moot proposition revolves around Criminal Law and Human Rights, pressing contemporary issues that challenge our legal and moral compass. This competition will provide an exceptional platform for aspiring law students to showcase their legal acumen, advocacy skills, and teamwork.

Eligibility

Members of the team must be UNDERGRADUATE students (5 Year Integrated Programme after 12th or 3 Year Programme after graduation) from an Institution recognised by the Bar Council of India.

Prizes

  • Winner – Trophy & Cash prize of INR 50,000
  • Runner-ups – Trophy & Cash prize of INR 30,000
  • BEST SPEAKER – Trophy & Cash prize of INR 10,000
  • BEST RESEARCHER – Trophy & Cash prize of INR 10,000
  • BEST MEMORIAL – Trophy & Cash prize of INR 15,000

Important Dates

  • Release of Moot Problem & Commencement of Registration – 5th January 2025
  • Last Date of Pre-Memorial Registration – 5th February, 2025
  • Release of Clarifications – 31st January, 2025
  • Last Date for Submission of soft copy of the Memorial = 14th february, 2025
  • Release of List of Teams Qualifying Memorial Evaluation Round – 21st February, 2025
  • Last date for Final Registration and Payment of Registration fee – 28th February, 2025
  • Registration, Draw of Lots, Researcher Test, Preliminary Rounds, Quarter Final Rounds – 8th March 2025
  • Semi Final Rounds, Final Round and Valedictory Ceremony 9th March, 2025

Fee Details

There is no Registration Fee for the Pre-Memorial Registration round.

The Teams qualifying for the Memorial Evaluation Round should register themselves by filling out the Final Registration forms along with the fees of Rs 3500/- per team. Any team requiring accommodation will have to pay an additional charge of Rs 1500/-.

Registration Procedure

In order to confirm participation, teams of the interested institution should register themselves by filling out the Pre Memorial Registration Form.
