About ICFAI Law School
The ICFAI Foundation for Higher Education (IFHE) is a Deemed-to-be University established under Section 3 of the UGC Act, 1956. IFHE is a NAAC A++ Grade University and is a multidisciplinary institution comprising the Faculty of Management, Faculty of Science and Technology, Faculty of Law and Faculty of Social Sciences.
ICFAI Law School, IFHE Off Campus, Bangalore, is a constituent unit of IFHE. The Law School commenced its integrated law programme in 2024 following approval by the Bar Council of India in 2023. It offers a five-year integrated BBA.LL.B. (Hons.) programme with a multidisciplinary approach combining legal education, practical training, internships and professional exposure.

About the Conference
ICFAI Law School, IFHE Off Campus, Bangalore is organising a National Conference on Balancing the Scales: A Critical Analysis of India’s Four Labour Codes on 24 October 2026.
India’s labour law framework has undergone a significant transformation with the consolidation of 29 central labour statutes into four comprehensive Labour Codes:
- The Code on Wages, 2019
- The Industrial Relations Code, 2020
- The Code on Social Security, 2020
- The Occupational Safety, Health and Working Conditions Code, 2020
The conference seeks to critically examine the implications of these Codes from the perspectives of workers, employers, economic flexibility, social security, collective bargaining, occupational safety and regulatory compliance.
It will also explore constitutional, comparative and international dimensions of labour law reform, including fundamental rights, International Labour Organisation standards and Centre-State relations.

About Call for Papers
Research papers are invited from interested participants on contemporary and emerging issues concerning India’s Four Labour Codes.
The conference aims to provide a platform for rigorous, evidence-based and multidisciplinary scholarship examining the substantive implications of the new labour law framework.
Papers may address any of the listed sub-themes or other closely related aspects of the Four Labour Codes. The sub-themes are indicative and not exhaustive.

Abstract Submission
Authors are required to submit an abstract of 300–400 words, accompanied by a minimum of 5 keywords.

Full Paper Submission
Upon acceptance of the abstract, author(s) are required to submit the full paper.
- Full paper length: 4,000–5,000 words, inclusive of footnotes
- Co-authorship: Maximum 2 authors
- In case of co-authorship, at least one author must attend and present the paper.

All manuscripts must strictly follow the Bluebook 20th Edition citation style. Only footnotes should be used for referencing.
Submission Guidelines
- Abstracts must not exceed 400 words and must contain a minimum of 5 keywords.
- Abstracts must be submitted in MS Word format.
- Co-authorship is permitted for a maximum of two authors.
- Full papers must be between 4,000–5,000 words, inclusive of footnotes.
- Full papers must not contain the personal details of the authors.
- Submissions must be original and unpublished.
- Similarity index must not exceed 10%, excluding properly cited quotations, references and bibliographical material.
- A Turnitin Plagiarism/Similarity Report must be submitted along with the full paper.
- At least one author of each accepted paper must present the paper at the conference.
Publication Opportunity
Selected papers, subject to the recommendations of the Review Committee and compliance with publication guidelines, will have the opportunity for publication in a Scopus-indexed journal.
Selected full papers will also be published in an edited book with ISBN by a reputed publisher or a peer-reviewed journal with ISSN. Further publication details will be communicated separately.
