The Competition Commission of India (CCI) was established by the Central Government on 14th October 2003 to promote and sustain fair competition in the Indian economy. It functions under the framework of the Competition Act, 2002, which was amended by the Competition (Amendment) Act, 2007. The primary objective of the CCI is to ensure a level playing field for producers while safeguarding consumer welfare.

About the Opportunity

The GLA Moot Court Competition, organized by the Institute of Legal Studies and Research, GLA University, Mathura, is a prestigious national-level competition aimed at fostering legal acumen and advocacy skills among law students across the country. This competition provides a platform for aspiring legal professionals to engage in simulated courtroom proceedings, where they can showcase their research, drafting, and oral advocacy skills.

Theme

A gripping legal battle intertwining the intersection of Intellectual Property and Competition Law respectively.

Eligibility

  • The Competition shall be open to the students who are:
  • Pursuing an integrated five-year Law course in India; or
  • Pursuing 3 years LL.B. in India.

Team Composition

Each Team shall consist of two speakers and one researcher or two speakers in which one of the speakers will be the researcher. No change of speaker to researcher or vice-versa shall be permitted except upon application and approval of the Organizing Committee.

Registration Fee

Rs. 3,500 per team (Exclusive of Accommodation, Breakfast and Dinner)

Prizes

  • Winner: Rs. 50,000/- + Trophy + Certificate of Merit and Excellence
  • First Runner-up: Rs. 25,000/- + Trophy + Certificate of Merit and Excellence
  • Second Runner-up: Rs. 10,000/- + Trophy + Certificate of Merit and Excellence
  • Best Mooter: Rs, 5,000/- + Trophy + Certificate of Merit and Excellence
  • Best Researcher: Rs, 5,000/- + Trophy + Certificate of Merit and Excellence
  • Best Memorial: Rs, 5,000/- + Trophy + Certificate of Merit and Excellence

  • Physical Registration, Inaugural Ceremony, Researcher’s Test and Exchange of Memorials for the Preliminary Rounds: 29th March, 2025
  • Preliminary Rounds: 29th March, 2025
  • Quarter-Final Round: 29th March, 2025
  • Semi-Final Round: 30th March, 2025
  • Final Round and Valedictory Ceremony: 30th March, 2025

  • Teams willing to participate in the GLA Moot Court Competition, 2025 (Being organised at the country level) in collaboration with the Competition Commission of India (CCI) must register by submitting a Google form on or before 28th February, 2025, 11:59 PM IST.
  • This shall be considered as the final registration of the participating Institution/College/ University.
  • There shall be 32 Teams in total. Teams registering shall have to deposit the registration fee of Rs. 3,500/-. The registration fee shall exclude accommodation, breakfast, and dinner.
  • The Final Registration will be deemed complete only when the concerned registration form is duly submitted, and the confirmation of the same will be sent to the teams.
  • Every team that successfully registers as per the competition rules will be allotted a unique code after the Registration period closes. Once the unique code has been allotted, every team must use it to communicate with the Organizers during the Competition.
