About the HPNLU’s Journal Of Disability Studies
Journal for Disability Studies (JDS) is an annual peer-reviewed Journal published by the Centre for Studies Related to Persons with Disabilities, Himachal Pradesh National Law University, Shimla. Among National Law School Journals in India, the Journal of Disability Studies (JDS) is the first of its kind, and it is devoted to disability laws and related jurisprudence.
The idea behind this journal is to provide a platform to all the stakeholders, including people with disabilities, disability activists, lawyers, policy-makers, and researchers, to promote the first-person narratives on disability studies and dilute the otherization of people with disabilities. The journal’s editorial board encourages researchers to contribute their experiences and innovative reasoning. While following NEP, the Journal accepts works from disability studies and related issues based on a multidisciplinary approach.
